Really fun (in a creepy way!) mystery!
I purchased this book based upon a recommendation of a friend of mine, and I was not disappointed! The storyline is like a combination of Stranger Things, It, and the Lovely Bones, focused on a mysterious entity wreaking havoc in a group of teens suburban PA town. I both raised teens and work in a high school, and the writing rings very true to the conversations, upsets and struggles I hear. When I first started reading the book, I thought...oh, I wonder if this is going to be a rip on other storylines because of the type of book (mystery/sci fi/teen), but I was absolutely wrong - the ending was completely original - something which is very difficult to do in this age of "everything has been done before".The one especially huge thing to note about this book is that it was written by a 15 year old. I am saying in all honesty that most adults I know couldn't write a chapter, much less a book, as well as this author did. I actually was vested in the characters and the ending.....well, I don't want to give it away.I would consider this a great fun read for not only teens, but adults as well. It reads quickly - you want to keep going as you read it to see what happens next - it's well paced. I'm glad I followed my friend's advice and read it - and I will read the author's next work when produced.

A promising young author
A group of “misfits” navigating friendship, family, and the pitfalls of high school get a crash course in consequences when a menacing interloper threatens their community. And their innocence…. Sprinter delivers impressive insight into the teenage psyche and, also, the birth of true friendship and acceptance that can blossom in the wake of tragedy. I am blown away by Barrett’s first feature novel and the raw honesty he bakes into his characters.A

INSIGHTFUL GENUINE RIVETING TEEN MYSTERY
SPRINTER is a fast-moving page turner that is well written. It probes the lives of teens and their relationships and pressures with peers and family in a suspenseful scenario. It depicts today's teen life accurately and addresses the bullying. The mysterious sightings bring adversaries into their already pressured lives. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable teen science fiction mystery thriller
Well conceived and extremely creative suspenseful science fiction mystery thriller set against the the trials and tribulations of being in high school and the drama and complexities of navigating the high school social status scene. The characters were extremely well developed with impressive writing style and quality of the story-line development.
