Plastic wire reels, the new aluminum.
Lighter than my aluminum one. Plus, when you have a dozen rod busters on a site, it is easy to tell from a distance which wire reel is yours, it's the only blue one out there. Just as sturdy as my aluminum one too.

Lighter...but
Wire wears a groove in the reel after a few months. If you tie rebar every day you will need to buy one of these every 6 months.It is cheaper and lighter than metal ones.
