This tent exceeded our expectations!
Just took this tent out for its first camping trip, and it did not disappoint! It is a very well-made product, and if you have two people, is easy to set up and take down in minutes. We loved being able to sleep in the back of our SUV, and use the tent as a room to hang out in, play games in, and store our cooler and gear in. There is a ton of headroom as well as room to move around, and the lantern hook is great. We had sunny weather so I can't attest to how it would hold up in the rain, but it certainly held its own with the winds we had. Two words of advice -- 1) once you have the two sets of tent poles inserted into their respective sleeve in an X formation, have one of you stand inside the middle of the tent and hold it up while the other basically pops the tent up into shape and secures the pegs at the bottom corners. 2) no matter how tight you fit the SUV sleeve to your vehicle, there will still be a few gaps; we just used some painter's tape to secure the SUV sleeve even further and had no bugs as a result. All in all, a great purchase!

Love it—but one design flaw. Make that two...
This tent is doing everything we wanted it to do--and then some. We already had Napier's "Cove" attachment which we liked a lot, and saw that it was good quality so we were confident ordering another of their products. We wanted a more all purpose add-on, and this was better than expected. We mostly wanted a place to stand up when camping in our Sienna. We can now climb out of the bed in the van and have a place to get dressed, etc. What we didn't expect? It's big: With the windows unzipped, it makes a great screen house if the bugs are bad. We brought our folding chairs inside and spent a dry, cozy evening while it thunderstormed. I put some mats down so the chair legs wouldn't scuff the floor. Plenty of overhead space so we felt comfortable setting up the stove and making coffee. No more setting up a tarp over the picnic table. The Dream. Downsides? It's big and heavy. The poles are thick fiberglass with big ferrules which snag on the tent sleeves making set up a bit more difficult. With only two poles, setup is simple, but they're really long and flexy and it takes a bit of doing to get that big dome to stand up (and we've been tent campers for years). It's gotten easier the more we do it. Once the poles are up, the rest of setup is really quick. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to lighter, sleeker poles. A person could probably get it to fit back into the carrier bag, but it would take time and practice. We're car camping, not ultralight backpacking, so we roll it with the included straps and throw it into the car. We might use an old big duffel next time. The tent stakes are like railroad spikes. I've never seen heavier ones. Another upgrade in the cards? The main design flaw we noticed in that thunderstorm. The seam at the edge of the floor makes a natural gutter for rain to catch in and the seam isn't sealed, so we saw some pretty good leaking all around. (See photo) I got a tube of seam sealer and went around the edge, so we'll see if that helps. Since our bed is in the van, a little water on the edges wasn't a big deal. The thunderstorm blew rain under the fly near the car, but we zipped up that window and all was well. I had sprayed waterproofer around the bottom and on the fly and the connector sleeve, so I'm sure that helped. Just like in our "Cove," water gets in around the open hatch unnoticed and flows around the edge of the opening. It collects in the bottom of the connector sleeve, but (unlike our "Cove") they've installed drain grommets so most of it flows out onto the ground outside the tent. No problem. I wondered how fussy it would be to hook and unhook the thing to the van, but it's a breeze. Granted, our backup camera helps a lot, but you're not docking the space station here: there's a pretty big margin of error and the thing clips on really quickly with a good seal. Bugs didn't find their way in, but they weren't too bad at the time. It takes less than a minute, and it's great to unhook and be off for the day with no fuss. These criticisms (the poles, the stakes, the seams-- are really quibbles. We are very, very happy with this. The quality is really good overall, especially for the price. And the functionality is really great. We refer to it as 'the multi-purpose room.' Update: we found the two staking points on each side of the fly didn't allow for very good ventilation, so I sewed a loop of webbing to the center of the fly and attached a long loop of shock cord. It works a whole lot better, pulling the fly farther from the window allowing good airflow.

It's OK ?
I set the tent up yesterday so I could make sure I could do it by myself. I was able to. I was disappointed with the cheap quality of this tent. I once bought a cheap tarp and the floor portion was made of the same material. There was a hole in the bottom. I hope I didn't get sent something that was sent back by another unhappy customer. I will ducktape the hole. I feel I paid way more than what this is worth. It is doable. If it cost less, I would recommend it. Debating on returning this. I just got it, so I have to make up my mind soon. Added months later... The size is perfect but I was disappointed in the tent material. It was a cheap grade tarp type of material. There was a small worn hole near the bottom but I taped that up. It wasn't too difficult to set up but I needed help. ( I am short ). I do have to say that this tent held up through a crazy wind storm. I did a lot of praying through the night and thought the tent would be gone. Everything was intact. No tears or damage.

Great fit
Very easy to put up and take down, camped for 2 days and on the second day it rained really hard, absolutely no water got in my RAV4. I’m 5’10 and I can stand up straight and raise my arms and not hit ceiling. Plenty of room inside with the ceiling so high, it makes it so you can use all of the tent and not jut the middle. I’ll camp again but next time I’ll keep all the equipment in my car and put my bed in the tent. My back seats do not lay down flat, I purchased the inflatable mattress but there was no compensation for this issue. Tent is big and that will fix the problem.

Napier, please address the faulty pole issue!
Spacious and easy to set up. We have used it both attached to our Honda Element and as a stand alone in sites that do not allow for vehicles. Both corner to corner poles split and broke on our 4th use, this also resulted in painful (fiberglass?) splinters to the hands. It sounds like other unfortunate buyers have experienced the same. We have only used ours in dry weather so do not know how it holds up in the rain... although numerous comments indicate it does not.

This is a fantastic buy - easy to set up and attach to the car. HEAPS of room - plenty of space and headroom inside and a handy hook in the middle to hang a light or whatever you fancy. It would be perfect for a couple of nights camping somewhere that you don't need the car. I've been looking for something like this for a while so I'm glad I didn't have to spend closer to $1000 to get this. Would be easy to set up alone if you've done it before, but as I haven't used a tent in many years it was definitely good to have someone to help. Looking forward to using this again and again - I would 100% recommend this product.

Looks well constructed. Looks difficult to erect but in actual fact is not.

A late review, but now we've used this for two summers in a row and we think it's great. We had started essentially camping in the back of our Volvo station wagon years ago, and this tent just made the whole thing that much more comfortable and fun. It's really cleverly designed to be able to adapt to attaching to cars from a station wagon up to a full-size SUV. It sets up quickly and easily. Maybe 10 minutes with 2 people. I did the original test setup in our driveway myself. Better with 2 people, but definitely doable by 1. The first summer we forgot to bring a ground sheet and, of course, it just stormed down on us. The tent still stayed dry as a bone, though (The second summer we had the ground sheet and didn't get a drop of rain, of course). We found it pretty simple to detach it when we needed to drive off to get some supplies, and then hook it back up when we returned. We just put a couple of sticks down to mark where our tires had been, so we knew how close to back up to it before opening the tailgate. You can close the tent up tight so all four sides are enclosed while you're gone. And it's BIG. 10 feet square and about 7 1/2 feet high in the centre. Nice to be able to stand up inside.

Love this - i attached to a 3/4 ton chev suburban and JUST fits. I like that i can walk around in it and add a chair and table plus a sleeping cot and that i can unhook from it and leave. I did not have high expectations when i bought it but it exceeded them! I thought the price was reasonable. I could close the screens covers and add a heater (careful to make sure there was good ventilation) and get it warm enough in lowish temps. It’s fairly quick to put up and i had no issues putting it up on my own. First time took a bit more time but after that it was very quick. I used the little foamy bits that came with the poles to protect the tent from the corners of the hatchback of the truck - but like i said i was on the max for fitting the open doors of the truck into this tent.
