Knape & Vogt EZ12/1WH 12" White Instant Corner Shelves Single Pack

I ordered 5 of these shelves to fill an empty corner of my study and create a place to perch one of my satellite surround sound speakers as well as other momentos and knick knacks. Skip to the bottom if you have an un-square wall corner and are worried about installing these shelves!First the bad stuff:Of the 5 ordered, 3 had damaged corners. I suppose with some some wood glue, primer, and paint, I could have it looking good as new again, but I didn't order "instant" shelves to end up with a 3 hour project on my hands. I'm disappointed that I now have to return the damaged shelves and then probably re-order more than I need as I'm sure the next batch will also have damaged corners, and then return those that I don't need. Kind of a hassle. Also, the paint that came with the shelves was a little thin in some spots on some pieces, but otherwise decent.Now the good stuff:These shelves look pretty good once up. The details on the front are subtle enough to fit most decors. They also install easily, even with the modifications I had to make to fit my slightly un-square room. I used a level to make sure they were perfectly straight. The overall outcome looks very clean, I'm pleased.Overall, 3 stars for a good product with an unfortunately high susceptability to damage during shipping.NOTE: If you have unsquare corners as I did, installing these shelves only takes an extra 5 minutes each! The sides of the shelf which face the walls have a deep channel in them for the plastic pins to fit into once they've been pinned on the wall. This means it's very easy to sand down the side of the shelf to create any angle you desire. I made a template using the cardboard packaging that came with the shelf and found that if I drew a line from 1/8 of an inch inside from the 90 degree corner to the very point of one of the other corners, I could create an angle that fit my wall's corner exactly. (Around 95-100 degrees I'd guess) I used a mouse sander with 80 grit paper to make quick work of removing the material along the line I drew. I then shorted the plastic pin a bit using a razor blade and installed them as normal. They turn out great and the wider angle is imperceptible! I'll put up some pics after Amazon replaces my damaged shelves.

In my office I have a shower. It is supposed to be that anyone can use it, but few due, perhaps because of the slime mold and the fact that the area is festooned with cameras ("Hello.... ladies!!!").Anyway, my electric toothbrush and my mach 3 razor were always getting wet in there, screwing up the batteries, so i wanted them elevated. So I got this shelf. It came with 7 little accordian-esque screw in thingies so you don't need any tools to install the shelf. In retrospect I should perhaps not have used all seven because the shelf isn't entirely flush with the wall on one side. It may be that the corner of this room isn't perfectly square.But with that caveat (and it isn't a big deal for me in this location because after all nobody goes in there much due to the creatures that live there) the installation was easy and fast. And being the opposite of a handyman, I like that no tools were required.Now my battery operated devices are safely high and dry in my shower area. And I am happy.

My 25 yr old daughter that doesn't know anything about putting things together, was able to install this shelf in a matter of a few minutes. She used it to put a small lamp next to her bed that couldn't fit a nightstand.

The product is fine, but not quite as fuss-free to install as suggested. (Directions say no tools, but you'll definitely need a level and drill.) It also seems pretty pricey for what it is, but the shelves are attractive and seem pretty sturdy. I got them to go in my kitchen in the corner between cupboard and wall, and the mounting into cupboard wasn't ideal. I do like have extra space to get a few items (e.g. my French press and coffee grinder) off my counter too, but a rounded shelf would have provided more space. (I got the 12" shelves.)

They were easy to install, but we had to sand them down a little to make them fit correctly. If we wouldn't have sanded them down on one side, they would have had a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch gap from the wall. For some reason they just weren't snug or cut right, but it was an easy fix and they look great up on the wall! The paint also chips off easily, but for the price they are nice.

These shelves are amazing! I installed three of them in a corner of my bedroom. The pushpins are easy to insert into the wall; I started with my hand and tightened with a screwdriver. Then the shelf just popped on. I started the process by using a level to draw out where to put the pushpins. The shelves do not fit perfectly in the corner. One side is more snug than the other, but it's good enough for me. They are sturdy and good quality. The corners on them might come chipped, but it's not super noticeable. Nothing a quick touch-up can't fix.Overall happy with the product and quick installation.

I pre fitted the special retainers into the side of the shelf.(sanded them to correct diameter for sliding shelf on.) Made it easier to install.

I don’t know what all the reviews about this shelf being hard to install are about....I was able to install it no problem and I’m 7 months pregnant! Lol the only thing I’ll say besides how easy it was and how nice it is...is that you will need a level so technically you will need a “tool” (unless of course you don’t care if it’s totally level) ...other than that I love the shelf! Will definitely buy again if ever I need another corner shelf :)
