Used this book for a book critique in a Research Methods class.

I am amazed at the poor quality of the content of this book. Many techniques offered are fundamentally misunderstood by the author. It reads like it was written by a student that thought their huge vocabulary would hide the fact that they didn't know what they were talking about. I plan to keep this book specifically to use it for examples of what NOT to do. Some of the historical analysis methods might be ok, but that's not my purpose, so I didn't look at those closely.

Kawamura offre una lente d'analisi attenta e specifica per inquadrare una metodologia di ricerca chiara e specifica per chiunque voglia intraprendere un lavoro di ricerca nel campo della moda e dell'abito. Dalla differenza tra metodi qualitativi e quantitativi, passando per l'etnologia e la semiotica, l'autrice con sicurezza e coraggio ci fa capire come i fashion studies siano una disciplina degna di riconoscimento accademico.
