Perfect for wilting and pickling
I ordered this sea salt specifically to use for a kimchi recipe, where you will napa cabbage prior to mixing it in with the other ingredients. After reading some of the other reviews, I felt confident that I was going to like this product. It's not that flakey kind of sea salt, or the rocky kind of sea salt, it's much more raw looking and feeling. The taste is absolutely Superior. I can't wait to use it on some chocolate desserts! I started my kimchi today, and after only one hour my whole napa cabbage had reduced down to about an eighth of its size! I will definitely be using this salt in place of regular table saw moving forward!

Pure, Mineral-Rich Sea Salt for Everyday Use
The Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt is an unrefined, additive-free sea salt known for its mineral-rich content and slightly moist texture. It is non-GMO, gluten-free, kosher, and paleo-friendly, making it a versatile choice for cooking and baking. I tested it in various recipes, including seasoning meats, baking, and finishing dishes to assess its flavor, texture, and quality.Pros:✅ Rich in natural minerals, enhancing flavor and nutrition✅ Unrefined and additive-free, providing a clean, natural taste✅ Slightly moist texture, making it easy to pinch and sprinkle✅ Resealable bag helps maintain freshness✅ Great for cooking, baking, and finishing dishesCons:❌ Moist texture can cause clumping, making it harder to use in salt grinders❌ Stronger flavor than regular table salt, which may take some adjustment❌ Slightly more expensive than regular sea saltPerformance and Usability:This sea salt delivers a deep, natural flavor, making it a great upgrade from table salt. The moist texture helps retain minerals, but it can make it tricky for salt shakers or grinders. It worked well in soups, meats, vegetables, and baking, adding richness without overpowering. The resealable bag keeps it fresh, but proper storage is key to preventing clumping.Comparison:Compared to regular table salt, this Celtic sea salt retains more natural minerals and has a more complex taste. It’s similar to Himalayan pink salt in its unrefined nature but has a distinctive moist texture that makes it easier to pinch and sprinkle.Who Is This For?:Ideal for health-conscious cooks, bakers, and food enthusiasts who want a mineral-rich, unprocessed salt. If you’re looking for a clean, natural alternative to processed table salt, this is an excellent option. Conclusion:The Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt is a high-quality, mineral-rich alternative to regular salt, offering better taste and health benefits. While its moist texture can be tricky for grinders, its pure, unrefined nature and rich flavor make it worth the investment for serious cooks and health-conscious users.

All Salts are not Created Equal
Celtic salt is an absolute game changer! The flavor is incredibly pure and rich, with a natural, slightly briny taste that enhances any dish. What really sets it apart is the high mineral content, which gives it a depth of flavor and health benefits that regular table salt just can’t match. I love how it adds an earthy finish to everything from salads to roasted vegetables and even baked goods. Plus, knowing it’s harvested sustainably from the pristine coastal waters of France makes it feel even more special. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a go – it truly elevates your cooking!

Simply delicious!
This salt is simply delicious and don't let anyone tell you any differently! Who knew food could taste so different and so good?!I first found this brand in a local organic store (Mom's), but it was the pink himalayan salt. It is very delicious. Because the pink himalayan salt was quite a bit more expensive here than in the store (which isn't very close by), I opted for this grey celtic salt. I read the reviews, and I admit that I was concerned about not being able to put it in my grinder due to it being "wetter" than what I was used to. If you read enough reviews, you learn to trust the Amazon family, and they were right - you cannot put this salt in a regular grinder. (I think someone mentioned a special type of grinder, but I can't recall which one).Honestly, and for some reason, I never even put the other Selina Naturally pink himalayan salt in my grinder either, but it's likely because the salt didn't stick around long enough for me to add it like I do with other brands! That said, I was completely prepared that if this light grey celtic salt was as wet as everyone reported, then I was prepared to use my fingers to sprinkle it on everything (like the "real" chefs do, except I am definitely not a chef!!).To the touch, this salt is quite wet, and it feels a bit strange in the hand compared to other salts, especially the commercialized salts whose taste I have grown to despise. But no matter, I just sprinkled the salt on my meat, eggs, chicken, salmon, etc...EVERYTHING...and it has never let me down! Now, I do have to wash my hands because any residual salt sticks to my hands (maybe that special grinder IS in order?!). Still, just because you don't have a grinder is not a reason to throw this salt in the trash as one person indicated. THAT is a waste of a good thing! I did go to their website, and it states there that you can dry the salt out if you so desire and it won't change the salt composition. I did not dry out my salt in the oven because I was afraid of this and wanted the salt in its most natural form, but their website says the composition will not change. Interesting.I have tried many brands of himalayan salt and sea salt...but I have never tasted one so distinct as this one that I recall. I am hooked on this brand, too. I will never even have a spare of the commercial sea salt (like Hain's) in my cabinet because after tasting this brand, it tastes like I am consuming chemicals (anti-caking agents). Call me spoiling myself, but truly...as I strive to improve what little culinary skills I have, there is not a better tasting dish than one prepared with this brand of celtic sea salt.
