I grew up with the idea that salt is salt. However, like anyone who grows wiser with time and experience I soon figured out that salt isn't just sodium chloride. In fact, what makes for the most important taste characteristics in salt is actually all the other mineral elements in it. In case of La Baleine sea salt this balance of various other elements makes it one of the tastiest salts on the North American market today. Salt is salt. Unless you can taste the difference! Ciao!

The descriptor of this salt is Coarse, which I think it misleading. Granule size is much more like Kosher, and may run through most grinders too easily. If you are looking for salt to place in a grinder, I would recommend a coarser product.

There is something special about grinding my salt (yes, I also grind pepper) I love it on almost anything. I use it in place of a shaker all the time and have for years.

Had to rtn one broken container of Baleine. Last time I ordered it , the same thing happenned. It’s not the shipping box. But the salt container itself. Bottom is smashed in and salt is all over the place!

Nothing wrong with the product just above average price compared to any grocery store I've gone to since ordering. Only bought it to top up an order for free shipping, won't buy again online.
