iHome iDL95 Dual Charging Stereo FM Clock Radio with Lightning Dock and USB Charge / Play for iPad, iPhone, iPod OPEN BOX

We love this Clock Radio. One of its best features is to be able to shut the display completely off. We had another one radio that gave up on us and it had that feature. We saw this in a motel room and got the information off the bottom of the radio to order one. It was a little bit confusing about how to get the playlist for the Ihome on the Ipod, but after finding instructions, was able to find several songs to put on the playlist that would not scare the life out of us when it came on in the morning. Works great. There are actually about 7 different backlight settings for the display. It sounds nice if you just want to play the Ipod through it.

UPDATE 11/16: I was generally pleased with the product (read my prior commemts which I have left attached). But iHome has failed to update either the firmware or smart app (at least iOS) for over three years. With recent iOS updates the primary features of a smart app enabled alarm clock radio no longer work. You can no longer adjust alarm clock settings via your iDevice (one of its main selling points). I recommend anyone thinking of buying ANY of their smart app enabled products to go check for comments on the relevant App Store first. Look for user comments (plenty of upset users on the iOS App Store for this app) and also checkout the software version dates. I've also seen comments for another iHome app which requires you to pay a fee to disable ads, and comments from some people claiming that the audible ads play at 3 AM. If iHome will provide software updates I will review and possibly amend my rating. Pleased with the item, however my new iPhone 6 will not dock with the UAG case on, which I also purchased from Amazon. I must use the USB port to connect my iDevices. The sound is OK, but not as 'robust' as I had hoped given the cost of this item. Like the app, and ability to program it from the phone. I think the buttons could be laid out better, especially when you are half asleep trying to find the right buttons to hit. In one case I accidentally turned the alarm off and overslept the next morning. Has only happened once and YMMV.

A really good good buy! Works perfect with my iphone 6 plus and my ipad Air. Having the USB is plus to charge any other Apple products. My music sound is wonderful so crisp clear and LOUD. Love all the settings it will play with all your Apple products, the alarm is great with 2 settings for whatever your schedule is. Love the dimmer light feature several levels to choose from to off. Love it !

Pissed as hell that Apple's relentless changing of charging plugs make all my existing peripherals obsolete and I am forced to replace items that are not that old and still works perfectly. That said, iHome makes a pretty slick clock/radio/phone charger. The previous version worked great and the iDL95 has some cool improvements (separate weekday/weekend alarms, USB alternative input). It also has some failings. I use to use the aux output to pump the music to a full sound system. The newer model does not have that.

So far, so good!! I just returned another Ihome clock radio and thought I would give this one a try. Again I really like it so far. The dimmer for night time is perfect -- numerous dimmer levels to choose from -- you aren't bothered by any extra light in the bedroom -- just right for reading the time! The speed charging of my iPhone 6 is great -- one complaint -- you do have to take off the cover to insert the phone. Why cant they just take that into consideration when they invent another!!! Everyone has a cover for their phones!!!!! The sound is really good and just love the syncing of the clock time with the iPhone!!! Finally an easy way to fix the time on the clock!!! Overall great clock radio, speaker, and charging station!!

UNABLE TO GET IT TO WOK MISSING PARTS PIECE OF JUNK I WANT TO RETURN THIS ITEM

This worked very well for me. I see others have had problems, but this has been a great product. I got it to fit with my iPhone 5S and an Otterbox Commuter case. The trick? I trimmed off the cover flaps for the charging socket and the earphones on the bottom of the case (yes, it may partially defeat the purpose of that part of the case, but they don't seal well anyway often stick out, and won't protect anything if you drop them in a puddle, and they don't keep dust out). With this modification, the iPhone docks securely. When I plugged the phone in for the first time, the clock auto-set the date and time. I installed the "iHome Set" app and was able to set the alarm and other features right from my iPhone. While I had the phone docked, I received a phone call, and to my surprise, the clock acted like a speaker phone. Very happy with this. It does everything as advertised.
