Ran into a Fleck bypass valve for the first time. It's soldered into a filter system that needed replacement. Thought I was absolutely screwed. The variety of connections available surprised/amazed me. So easy and economical it's laughable. Perfect fit, no leaks....Can not believe I didn't know about these types of connections.

If you are placing a fleck water softener that's sweated, this is your savor - thought I would have to bring in a plumber for the job, but this makes everything so easy if you are replacing your water softener with a different brand.

So far so good. When using this and a brass female adapter I used teflon tape AND pipe dope. No leaks and this piece replaced the OEM. Since this is a main peice to flow water through my house I'm pleased with the product. I replaced the OEM with his piece since I cross threaded it, totally my fault and thankful this piece was available :)**4 year update**4 years later and still works great with no leaks and no issues whatsoever.

Update: Although the meter was a poor fit it did work as advertised. I guess that's all that counts.I could tell when trying to put it on that the centers aren't the same as the bypass. I will be surprised if it doesn't leak.I will report back.
