DIRECTV AU9-SL3-SWM Three LNB Ka/Ku Slim Line Dish Antenna SL-3 LNB Combo

Arrived quick and packaged well. Exactly as discribed. Setup was easy. Once base is level just set elevation and skew and point in the right direction. Used dishpointer pro app for smartphone to check direction and good line of sight. Rough tuned alignment with cheap satellite finder purchased years ago at radio shack even though most techs say they wont work with SWiM. They still work just fine to center on 101 and given your skew is correct 99 and 103 should be close. Turned on the box and had great signal with the first try. It will be nice to have HD channels when camping in my RV.

I ordered this dish because DirecTV said it would take 6 weeks before they could get around to install a new dish so I could get HD programming and this was the best price I could find.I began to be a bit concerned with the vendor when, just a few hours after sending in my order, I received an email from Amazon announcing the package had been shipped but I could not find the tracking number in the FedEx system. My credit card was quickly charged so I was starting to wonder what I had gotten into. Not to worry, though, several days later the package was delivered to FedEx and they delivered it promptly.The dish arrived in excellent condition - the packaging was not factory original but, it was much better packaged than any product I've ever received. They must have used a mile or more of tape and I spent quite a while cutting up the packaging after I'd unpacked the dish to get all the packing in the recycle bin.The package contained everything needed to install and set up the dish. I spent some time online researching my own dish setup (and found and watched the videos DirecTV uses to train their techs) but was still wondering if I was up to the challenge. The installation went very smoothly (I was able to do this faster than the DirecTV tech had done a previous installation for me).Unlike some other reviewers, I was able to use a low cost generic "satellite finder" meter for the setup which I then validated through the DirecTV setup menu. The instructions were comprehensive and complete although they seemed to be for a more generic installation as they listed several options.I was up and running in HD a little over a week after DirecTV told me it would take six weeks or more to install my dish.

It works perfectly and was easy to install and now I can watch all hd movies and my favorite eagles team in hd great purchase.

Received this dish on Jan 29. No instructions included, but managed to assemble it. Tried four times to get it to work at a remote cabin in Texas. Finally got the nearest DirecTV service guy out and he determined that the LNB was defective. Luckily he had a spare LNB and got the dish to work. Charged me $100 for service call. Asked seller for a partial refund due to the defective LNB. Seller said that I would have to send the entire dish back for a refund. Not possible as dish is mounted on top of a remote cabin. One star for defective product and terrible customer service.

Purchased this product so I could hook up my Directv H25 receiver. The Dish components came in two well-bundled packages. Had to get updated version of assembly instructions because this is the latest version of the Slimline Dish. Located "Installation Manual for Directv Multi-Satellite Dish Antenna with Integrated Triple LNB and Built-in Multi-Switch" on the web. Please note that this dish combo comes with the latest Single LNB with Single output. I was very happy to see that. Contrary to what one reviewer has stated, this unit has the multiswitch built in. It also came with the Power Inverter which is connected between the LNB and receiver. That is the only way it will work. Very easy hookup. I assembled the dish with elevation and tilt co-ordinents on the ground. Then attached dish to accompanying mount which I had previously secured to my garage roof. I hooked unit up to receiver and pointed dish in general southwest direction. In my case the azimuth was 212. Even though I had a tree to contend with, I located the satellite within minutes and got high 80's and mid 90's locked in on all transponders. Its been three weeks and so far so good. All channels come in great with no rain fade. I live in Detroit area. I highly recommend this product. It was a breeze and I'm not a techie. Just go slow and use common sense. Thanks Amazon.

Unlike some of the other reviews, this kit was great for my RV. It was not damaged in shipping and everything was new and in great shape. I went through a learning curve to set this up. I had to spend some time on-line learning about Directv. But now I can do it in a fairly short period of time. You do have to have patience the first couple of times though. I put a couple of apps on my smart phone that really help; dishpointer pro which is really cool at showing you where the satellites are and giving you the coordinates no mater where you are, and smart compass which, when you hold it vertical shows the exact magnetic heading for the direction the phone is pointing. It took me a few hours of messing around the first time but now I know how and it's fairly easy to repeat the process. If you are frustrated by the process though, you will probably be better off with a $1700 version that sets itself up. But I like saving a little money.
