Extremely consistent operation. Durable, dependable.
The media could not be loaded. This colibri monaco has been the most consistent lighter I've ever used. It will light every single time on the first strike, until it doesn't. In that case add more fuel. After you add fuel, it will not light on the first three strikes, but on the fourth strike it will definitely light. This has been my experience in the 6 months I've owned it. It has seen heavy use, carried in the pockets alongside keys, nuts, bolts, screws, metal shavings, welding slag, and any manner of destructive bits that will destroy the small mechanism of a Bic or similar refillable lighter. The exterior finish has suffered as seen in the pics. To me, those battle scars give it character. It doesn't have the seemingly indestructible feel of a Zippo, but it has suffered no ill consequence aside from cosmetic in the rough use pockets that I carry it in daily. The sight-glass to view remaining fuel is hard for me to see. (probably my vision isn't as sharp as it once was) One change I would make it the fuel valve wheel. Perhaps a bit sturdier plastic or even aluminum would suffice as the one provided is made from a material akin to, or at least similar in pliability to old, dried up, chewing gum that would be found stuck to the under-side of the bleachers at the local middle school gymnasium. Luckily for me, I don't see the need to adjust the flame intensity. Once I set it the first time, it's stayed very consistent. Definitely would buy again. People ask why I don't just carry a Zippo. The fuel is the reason. Butane doesn't spill and leave flammable residue behind if overfilled. If you carry a freshly filled Zippo in your pocket, it's likely some fuel will leak out onto your pants and soak through to your bare skin. That stuff will burn you if left in contact with your skin for a long enough period of time. Enough rambling... if you need a quality lighter that's dependable the Colibri Monaco will fit the bill.

Never works on the first click… for a pricey lighter it is unacceptable at all… Don’t recommend it!
The media could not be loaded. I have the make 3 to 4 clicks so it works. I have a $12,00 lighter that never fails on the first click. That is a beautiful lighter but that’s it, not functional at all! Very disappointed!

It is ok. But at this price ok not alright
For the price you pay for this it should be better. My jetline mongoose that is half the prices kills this thing. Heck my Palio also keys this and it only 7-10 dollars. My advice is get those save your money

Nice looks and weight but not dependable
This is a very nice lighter from look and feel, however, it has to light consistently. This did not even with no wind. So it went back. Pretty disappointing at this price point they can't make a reliable lighter

Lighter stoped working after less than one year
Spent a lot of time researching lighters and disappointed that this stopped working after a short period of time.

Quit working right after the 30 day return window.
It stopped accepting butane 35 days after I got it and now I’m out $90 on what I thought would be a great birthday gift for myself. Turned out I’m totally hosed. Amazon is completely unwilling to help as well. Good luck with yours, it might work.
