Does it really cover the grey hair?

I have a friend whom I hadn't seen for some months. She has quite a bit of grey in her hair. I honestly thought she'd had her hair professionally coloured. It was all different tones of brown, lighter on top, and graduating to darker down the bottom. She's apparently been using it for a couple of weeks. Obviously everyone's hair will be different, but I was quite amazed at how good hers looked.

Is this shampoo biodegradable?
