Not entirely shure wot ish meant by 'sheerness,' but here goesh (hic) ... Supposedly from Mauritius (but blended in The Netherlands and bottled in London), the peppery sensation (cloves!) may not appeal to some, but I for one find it a welcome addition to the, let's face it, ever-growing presence of what can be - and in many cases IS - yet another overly smooth and/or sickly-sweet spiced-rum effort. Spice Hunter is certainly bold ... "with a Yo ho ho! and a bottle of Sanatogen!"

This is a very smooth rum. Goes down well with Coke. I would recommend using less because the flavour is intense. My personal opinion on this is that the clove flavour comes out stronger than the others which is why I recommend using less than a typical amount for a spiced and Coke.It has vanilla and caramel undertones which do come through and isn't bitter at all. I would buy it again and encourage any spiced rum drinker to at least try it. I have yet to try it with an orange wedge as recommended therefore I cannot give my opinion on that, but I think it will add to the flavour rather than detract.Overall: 5/5

This is a strongly spiced rum with an almost ' curry powder' vibe . Not very palatable alone but mixes quite well with sweeter components . For those looking for a very strongly and variously spiced rum , this is probably a good choice .

One of the review I read before buying this said that it tasted like Cloven Hoof. It does not. Cloven Hoof is my all time favorite - this rum is totally different in taste and texture. It's ok, but I won't be buying it again. Bought whilst on offer, so it was worth trying.

Just had my first 3 drams with Coke Zero… very strong spices but absolutely delicious.

My absolute favourite rum. And in this case 13 isn't unlucky. A delicious mix of 13 spices makes this rum taste so good on more than one level. And works well with lots of different mixers from your traditional cola all the way through to ginger ale.
