Review: Superior Quality - I didn't realise there would actually be such a difference between tinned tomatoes. These were expensive but I thought I would bite the bullet and try them. You may not notice anything unless you were looking for it, but I found the flavour, density and quality of these tomatoes far superior to the normal run of the mill ones. The juice is a lot thicker too. Apparently the authentic San Marzano tomatoes are grown in volcanic earth in a particular region of Italy and that's what enhances the flavour. The tins should also show two particular round authentication marks. If not, they are not pure San Marzano. But that is not to say they aren't good. Cheaper but good quality tins are fine for everyday use, but if you want perfection, then this is the product to go for.
