A Great Introduction to Linguistics
Written by a husband and wife team, this textbook is a kind of a beginners guide to linguistics. It's designed to be useful to teachers of ESL, teaching all levels of learners. Though it could serve those also just interested in linguistics for linguistics sake. It's chock full of useful and interesting bits. I would definitely recommend it.

Good book
A good book to learn about how language is acquired. It is really heavy in information so it definitely takes a little re-reading and highlighting.

What classroom teachers need to know about linguists
This book shows how linguists study language and some discoveries they have made for teaching students how to read and write more successfully.

Biased Text
Very biased text that analyzes linguistics using one sided favoritism and then sprinkles in some other resources. Instead of analyzing and presenting data, it takes a very intentional stance about what and how is a right or wrong way to look at and study language.
