Like many of the other reviewers, I was very unhappy with the kind of wave made by this gadget. It is NOT the beachy waves promised, but looks like a mild crimp, or braids that have been taken out. It makes the hair look dry and frizzy. You'd do much better with a cone-shaped, tapered iron instead. Or, better yet, get a diffuser attachment like the Wind Spin or Spin Curl, which is a sleeve that fits over the end of a blowdryer- you jam a hank of hair on there, use the dryer for about 15 seconds, and it blows the hair into a coil that, one cooled off, you break up with your fingers. They make perfect beach waves, but you have to do them all over your head, maybe eight coils. This product has a similar action, yet none of the effectiveness, and I can't for the life of me figure out why not. Those diffuser products should be much more popular than they are.

I purchased this steam waver brand new and was very excited upon receiving it. I like how you just add water and it works so fast on your hair. It surely doesn't seem to be as damaging as just plain heated devices and that's a good plus for me since I'm working on letting my hair grow long. The downfall to me regarding this styling tool is that it leaves your hair smelling like it has been burnt which is odd because I thought it would be healthier for the hair since it uses steam. It also has small barrels that make the waves and I believe that larger ones would style more pretty waves. It does the job really, really quick if you like the tighter waves and can withstand the smell that you will have in your hair. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep or chuck mine.

I wanted a crimper and had gone to several places looking for one. I had no luck and so I bought the bed head waver from Target. Although it's nice and creates pretty waves, they were too big for my liking. I wanted a more small crimped look. So to Amazon I went. I was looking through crimpers and didn't want to spend a lot. So I came across this one and thought..hmmm, great value..let me read reviews. As usual they were mixed so I was like eh,I'll go for it. Worse case I'm out less then ten bucks. I'm thinking, it looks small but as long as it does the job, all is well in the kingdom of hair styling. Well to my surprise, it's pretty big. It's very sturdy. I love it. Not only that but it came with this pretty hair clip Egyptian looking thing that will make you look like a Goddess. 😚 So I plug that bad boy in and go to work and boom, it's Excactly the look I was desiring. The only flaw is the steam stinks so bad. It gave my son a headache and kept making me cough. Other than that, I absolutely love it.

Price is great. Heats up in under a minute. The steam really sets the curls well. The curls (think finger wave curls, or a deep curvy crimp wave curl) last all day long. Good design so you don't burn your scalp or your fingers. The curls set in 10 seconds. I got the pink small one. LOVE IT. Cuts my get-ready-for-work time in half.

I love this product when I want a "perm" like look. It does tight waves and it works fast. The trick is to not hold it down for very long in any one spot -- or it will make your hair look stiff and it won't flow together. Section your hair off and then press down for about one second and then move your way down the hair. Works great! Does make steam noise that sounds like it's burning your hair -- but it's just the steam working.. no hair burning!

Not for me. The barrels are square not round and I have short hair so it gave me like a fro lol.. it was packaged well and the crimper( because that's what it is NOT a waver, that's the black one is a waver) didn't give a wave effect. I bought the black too and that's a waver I loved it I'll up load pics soon

Does not give your hair big waves. Looks more crimped than wavy. 😐

Works fine just not for the beach waves you would expect. The final look it is as if you braided your hair wet and then undid it after it dried. Nice just not "usual" or "natural" Very easy to use. And the quality is worth the price

I used it for my hair. It wasn’t what I thought it would be. It gave me tight waves or straight hair. It was easy to use. I bought it because I wanted wavy hair and I have the curl secret so I thought it would be good. Waste of money. But Amazon was awesome I got it on time and was very happy for that

Not what I expected tangles hair asked for a refund or something else in return fo not wanna go through the hassle of returning this
