Works great to upgrade my Losmandy Gemini mount!
This worked perfectly for my application. No issues or trouble. I too am upgrading the servo firmware for my Losmandy Gemini Mount. I had to make my own custom cable, but it worked out fine. Thanks to the other reviewer for mentioning that this works with the Gemini!!!

It is a working knockoff, updated firmware on my Losmandy G11T just fine.
I used it to program the pic's in my Losmandy telescope mount so I could update to Gemini 2 level 6. Worked fine with the Microchip software. No complaints. If you buy one to do what I did, order some 2.0 mm male header pins to make an adapter, this has the standard 2.5mm pitch.

Does the job
Works OK. I would prefer to do everything at the command line. Have to use Microchip's IDE and IPE. Their software has more functions than I know what to do with. All I want to do is compile my source code and store the hex file in the Pic microcontroller. Preferably at the command line.

It works just fine, don’t mind the negative reviews.
It works just fine, don’t mind the negative reviews. I’m using MPLAB X v6.0 and it’s programming my PIC12F as expected. However, the “Status” led indicator on the PicKit3 clone may sustain a green light then blink red every second. The documentation states that this is due to Vdd/Vss problems but this hasn’t effected programming the PIC. If you are new to PIC programming (like I am) be careful not to overwrite your preprogrammed calibration memory. If you accidentally write over it, your PIC will not function as expected until you restore your calibration memory from a working PIC. Keep coding. 👓

Wouldn't work with MPLAB IPE V6.15
I purchased this with a dev board and it wouldn't program using it. When using it to power the programming, it would say VPP was 4.75V instead of 5V and fail to program. When using power to the board, the programming would fail validation. Thinking it might be the dev board I bought a Universal Programmer Seat Board and it still complained about VPP. I have tried different computers, SSUSB ports, and a few other things and nothing works. I can only conclude the unit is the issue.
