Excellent Product
The InterDesign shower curtain rod is the best I have tried. It is easy to install and stays in place. The instructions are simple and clear. Extend the rod to 1 inch longer than the shower opening, twist the rod (several turns) to lock it to the desired length, then compress the spring-loaded rod and position it in place. It maintains tension with effective spring pressure and extra large ribbed pads hidden in the ends. This rod has a quality finish and is nicely made. The tension rods made by Zenith (sold by Lowes, Home Depot, and Target) are junk and cost more. They are tricky to install and tend to fall down. They use a touchy twist lock (quarter turn) to set length and you must screw out one of the end caps to apply tension. If you slightly turn the rod while turning the end cap, the lock releases, the rod falls, and you try again -- very aggravating! Since there's no continuous spring pressure, the rod will eventually slip and fall anyway. None of these factors apply to the InterDesign tension rod.

Ease the tension . . .
A terrific, attractive bar for the shower and it remains in place, forever. Well almost, but please be sure to follow the instructions when mounting it or you'll lose your grip! I didn't read everything and it took 15 minutes longer [it's about a 5-minute job if you can read]. My shower walls are replacement vinyl and very slick [dry] but this rod defies gravity. I read some other reviews about the inability to mount but I'll bet they didn't fully follow the procedure for easing the tension once in place. Surprise yourselves.

Received with one end dangling, broken, too late to return. GARBAGE
Looks like a beautiful shower curtain rod, however one end is broken. Received with one end piece dangling and thought it was supposed to be that way. Today we unwrapped the plastic wrap to install the rod, but there is no way to attach the loose end. Now we realize it was broken on arrival. Can't return to Amazon because 30 days have passed, so we bought garbage and must go to local store to and buy one that works.

Sturdy and Easy to Install
This rod looks really nice. I love the white accent on the ends. It was super easy to install. If you just read the instructions there's nothing to it. Just open to 1 inch wider than your opening, twist the way the sticker tells you to until it's tight, then compress, place and release. Easy peasy. We hung a nice heavy hookless fabric curtain with liner on it. It is very sturdy. Now, I haven't hung wet towels or clothes on it, since it is a shower curtain rod, not a towel rack. So if you're going to use it as a towel rack I can't vouch for it. But if you are using it for what it's intended for (to hold a shower curtain) it works great and looks very nice.

Solves my problem
I had my bathroom remodeled and bought a new shower curtain rod to replace the old one that was looking tired and a little rusty. The new one was of good quality, but periodically it would fall (my contractor put it up after the new tiles were in, so I'm sure it was installed correctly). After the rod fell for the third time (and after I patched the gouge it left in my wall), it struck me that someone should make a rod with a spring inside for added stability (like a toilet paper holder). Sure enough, someone did. If it exists, you can probably find it on Amazon. The InterDesign rod was incredibly easy to install and feels sturdier, but time will tell. My only complaint is that the end caps of the stainless-steel rod are white. It doesn't stand out in my bathroom, but I would have preferred stainless-steel caps rather than white.

Generally a good product with some problems
The product has a nice style to match the ceramic with chrome old fashioned type fixtures. I agree with another reviewer that the plastic wrap and sticker are difficult to get off. The rubber on the feet leaves a gray mark that shows easily on white surfaces. The smudge rubbed off my ceramic tile easily but not so for the white plastic accent piece at the end of the rod, so I have some gray smudges on the white decor. I liked the spring loaded feature, but the polished ceramic tile wall I installed it on is too slippery for the rubber ends to grip and it immediately slid down--I solved that by inserting a piece of non-slip rubber rug pad. Since the white decorative end has a large diameter and protrudes 1 1/2 inches, it does not accommodate a curtain ring all the way to the edge, hence the curtain cannot be brought all the way to the wall. I'd say there is about a 1/2 inch gap between the curtain and the wall. This is not a problem because we have a long shower arm. Otherwise, I would get a shower curtain clip that sticks to the wall and holds the curtain in place.

Great Shower Curtain Rod!
Sturdy and well built. My wife and I had NO PROBLEMS installing it. We measured the length of the tub opening and extended the tube to 2-3 inches longer...............compressed it, put it in place, and hung the curtain. Going on 1 year of used and it is still in place, and it has not needed any adjustment. All metal will evtually rust (as some have complained about this), but we just rub a coating of car wax on the rod about every 3 months--no rust to date (we don't know if it would have rusted/tarnished if we didn't apply the wax). We give all of out metal tub fixture a waxing every so often. For those of you who find it won't stay in place (maybe weak wall movement), I suggest a layer of 2-sided tape on each of the rubber ends.

and this one was and is fine, thinking that I could use then as strong ...
This came just when they said it would, and it worked just as they said it would, it also looks just as the picture shown and it was strong. Unfortunately, I purchased both rods, the smaller I returned as it was defective, and this one was and is fine, thinking that I could use then as strongtension rods for my bedroom windows, one group has is aprox. 73 in. wide but alas, as we discovered with the recently received one, it will not work because end cap will not come off to allow curtain on rod. So, we have to return this one also, the first one being defective we did not even try to see if cap came off. Very nice rod and would look pretty in bathroom and would have liked it in window too.

Just what you want of a temporary shower curtain rail
This temporary shower curtain rail is very good indeed. Unlike most shower curtain rails of this type it looks good (well, if you have a white-and-stainlesss-steel décor in your bathroom or shower room) and, unlike many, it has a really excellent grip. My shower room has very small tiles, basically mosaic tiles, so many temporary shower curtain rails have problems gripping - but this one grips like mad. It was very easy to fit and, although in fact I didn't get it quite straight, I haven't changed the initial fitting because it's so firmly in place.Like all temporary shower curtain rails, this has a 'bump' in the middle where the extension happens. At the same time as fitting this rail I also fitted new shower curtain rings of the loop-over-and-snap-together type (transparent ones) because I wanted the shower room to look as good as possible. The rings (which were ridiculously cheap) glide over the 'bump' in this curtain rail with no problems and no intertwining. So the InterDesign curtain rail fits well, looks good (and looks permanent rather than temporary), allows the curtain to be drawn back and forth without any sticking, and seems set to stay where it's been put until I take it down.Excellent, particularly at the price.

Front door curtains
This was the only tension rod I could find in this length when I needed it. I wish that the end caps were not so big, they are really inconvenient and gangly looking. They also prevent the curtain from being flush against the wall. I use this above my front door to shield the light from the hallway and buffer the noise a little using a couple of blackout curtains.

Great product, good quality.
Has used it for couple years. It still works very well.

Effortless to fit.
Although this is listed as a shower curtain rail, the brushed steel does not look out of place in a kitchen. Bought to hang tabtop Ikea unlined curtains at my French windows, it works beautifully. Strong construction, it takes the curtains effortlessly and does not move. Getting the initial tension defeated us for a while despite following the instructions but we kept turning the rod in the direction indicated and it suddenly gave us the tension we needed. Really pleased with the quality and value, so I have no hesitation in recommending this item.

Slip, sliding away!
I’ve increased the tension of this bar to maximum for my shower opening. Frustrated as the bar keeps slipping anyway. If you put added weight using a shower curtain and liner it won’t stay in place at all. The rubber grips at both ends do not grip the shower ceramic tile. My previous bar had a foam rubber pad that never slipped.Do not recommend this product for this reason.
