Taste
Amarena Fabri cherries are the best on the market! I have tried many. Trader Joe's are good until you compare to Amarena Fabri. Fantastic with drinks; Old Fashion is a favorite. But also served on ice-cream or any sweet. There was a hairline crack in the bottom of the bottle which leaked slowly when it arrived. I told the seller and he immediately replaced. I will definitely buy from them again!

Worth the cost!
I looked for these Cherries because my son loves to make Old Fashions. He was blown away by the taste, texture and richness. The little wild cherries do not compare with maraschinos in any way. I am in process of buying another jar. They are expensive, but really worth it for the uniqueness. The shipping is also expensive, but they come very quickly and are packaged like they were sending fragile eggs. The jar they come in is so pretty and adds a touch of luxury! I highly recommend them!

Delicious cherries if you are prepared for the extreme sweetness of the syrup they are preserved in
Delicious cherries if you are prepared for the extreme sweetness of the syrup they are preserved in. These are not really a cocktail cherry; they should be used for desserts or other applications where a very sweet product is desirable. Jar is absolutely lovely and will be kept long after these cherries are eaten.

Very tasty
The cherries are fantastic. The product was wrapped well - it's the one time I wish I had done an unboxing video - the two layers of protective wrapping kept going and going and going. As I mentioned - they taste great. I haven't had many - I bought them for Randy Cassingham's Cherry Rumtini - and I need to buy some more amaretto and a better rum.

Five Cherry Taste Test
Mushy and super, super sweet, these cherries wouldn't work in anything that wasn't a dessert. Even then, they'd only be good if they were mixed in and not a garnish. I purchased 4 differed cherries from Amazon to compare: (1) Griottines- Wild Morello Cherries in Liqueur and Kirsch, (2) Luxardo the Original Maraschino Cherries, (3) Tillen Farms Bada Bing Cherries and (4) these guys. I also had the grocery store maraschino cherries from the ice cream isle. I wanted to find the best cherries for cocktails and decided to splurge and get expensive ones for a taste test. Of all 5, the fabbri Amarena Wild Cherries in Syrup were the worst. The cherries are so bad I'd just pitch it if it weren't for the pretty crock. (A friend has a friend who collects blue and white dishes; if they like the cherries, they can have them.) To see my reviews of the other cherries, just copy paste them in the search engine. When cost is factored in, I'll probably stick with the store-bought cherries for my cocktails; the taste differences between the other cherries weren't enough to justify that much splurging.

My go to cocktail cherries, delicious!
These are my go to cherries for use in Manhattans. The biggest thing I didn't know for years is to NOT refrigerate them after opening (took a lot of research to learn that they didn't need it and that leads to much better results). Refrigeration always led to crystallization and deterioration on the texture of the cherries, I tried all kinds of things (gentle microwaving etc) to try and restore them. Turns out they don't need refrigeration and they are way better.

The BEST of the best
We went to a fancy whiskey bar in Boulder CO where they distill their own, make their own bitters etc- my husband is a HUGE whisky fan and seems to just keep getting fancier with it. The whiskey bar was using these cherries and my husband couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful they were so the bar tender gave him his secret. Of course he was feeling good and had 0 qualms about spending this much on cherries so he bought them then and there. When they arrived he seemed a little surprised (possibly forgot he purchased) but now that he has been using them there is no going back! They are a staple in our bar and I can honestly say it’s worth the price. Whiskey connoisseurs would be thrilled to get these as a gift!

Took me back to Italy
Very authentic "Italian". I get vanilla gelato (no matter what it's always ho hum vs when I'm in Italy) and spoon some juice and a few cherries and YES! I pretty much recreate my favorite Italian gelato - "Amarena" (cherry). Other reviewers posted great ways to use this, but for me I just use for a virtual trip back to Italy via black cherry and vanilla gelato. Because it's very dense syrup and there are a lot of marinated cherries, it should last a long time. The container is beautiful, when I'm out of product I'll use for something else.

Absolutely delicious
These taste incredibly good, and not too sweet or cloying. It’s hard not to eat the entire jar once opened. Expensive, but worth it. A couple of tablespoons poured over a decent ice cream is a luxurious treat. I layered half a jar in a home made tiramisu and it went down a storm. Highly recommended.
