It's fine as a toy. However, if you're looking to start a young child off with a string instrument, consider a Ukelele. There are only 4 strings to start with, which is a lot easier to finger, and understand than a 6-string instrument.This (instrument) has issues. The paint/coating had a strong smell to it. It's worn off some, so that's no longer an issue. It's nearly impossible to tune. I have played guitar since the mid-80's, and I had to use a tuner, and still it was nearly impossible. I popped two strings on it. Now I'll have to order up a set of nylon strings so it'll at least be a complete toy. The way the tuners are set is the reason why it'll easily go out of tune (if it's ever tuned). Simple screws that must be tightened down. Be careful, or you'll risk stripping them if you over-tighten.In hindsight, a Ukelele would have been the best choice, but I wasn't aware of that guidance and general practice with kids and string instruments until after I had purchased this one. Nice toy, but if you're looking to start a young child (5 years old) with a string instrument, think Ukelele.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Worst kids guitar I've ever come across. Its not an actual guitar, it dorsnt have actual guitar strings or anything. After tightening the strings they come loose within 10 seconds. No human being should purchase this!!!

Bought this for my three yo granddaughter and it was an instant hit. It was a good size for her, and seemed to be well made for the price. Wanted something for her to play since she said she wanted a guitar, but didn't want to buy a "real" one for her until we knew she was seriously interested. It's a great beginner instrument.

It was a Christmas present for my 4 year old granddaughter. She loves the color pink and that it came with a fabric cover. She had expressed a wanting a guitar do I try to encourage her with anything musical. Great gift for a little girl!

This product had what appeared to be Sharpie smudges on it. It is definitely a toy. Do not expect a quality guitar. It's good for a child's first guitar.

I purchased this for a 5 year old and she loved it! When it came the strings were very loose. I made them tight with the tuning keys and then used a screwdriver to tighten the screws in the keys. Worked perfect! Just remember this is a toy. You could probably learn the basics on this but it would be very difficult to tune it properly. We also loved the extras! (bag, pitch pipe, pick , and extra string)

My 3 year old loves this..perfect gift for playing silly music...cant really complain...but I do have to say I dont think everyone gets the same extras...I saw a review where they recieved an extra string which I did not unfortunately...the product details do not state that you will recieve one but if someone else got one then id like one to..just saying...the details also do not state the other things in the actual picture of the item for sale as extras...so they should be edited out of the picture...because I wouldve liked to have recieved ALL of it... but the guitar is cute little and very fun for my daughter....her favorite part is the pitch pipe..hahaha

Very cute fun to play with, but does not tune well. But not expected as it is a toy.
