Used on a thru-hike, great sun and palm protection
I used these nearly daily on a month-long thru-hike of the Colorado Trail, which frequently goes above treeline; the sun up there can be brutal. When using trekking poles your hands are exposed and when you're hiking 10 hour days it's inconvenient and almost impossible to use enough sunscreen.Lots of people had gloves from other manufacturers (mostly Outdoor Research) but I prefer these because the palms are more durable without a huge change in weight. That's important when you're doing things like hanging bear bags - the rope can uncomfortably rub against your hands. There were also five or six big avalanche washouts that weren't cleared, so the palms helped when scrambling over branches and other debris. These didn't make me excessively hot and dried quickly. I even frequently left them on when I was dipping my hands in streams to get water to filter and when I had to climb snow embankments.Overall, I am very happy with these and will be using them in future hikes without even thinking about it.

Great Hiking Gloves!
Great hiking glove. Provides great grip for my trekking poles. Just went on a hike that involved a few rope sections and the grip was amazing down the first rope. Due to the muddy conditions, the grip wasn't as great for the next few ropes but the gloves still saved my hands from rope burn. My gloves ended up being extremely muddy but they were super easy to clean. They still look brand new after throwing them in the washer and hanging them to dry.

Super gloves!
This is the 3rd pair of Dr. Shade sungloves we have purchased. The other 2 have synthetic leather palms, this pair has the more grippy polyurethane. We use them rafting and kayaking on desert rivers and they are great to keep the sunburn factor down both while in the boat as well as on side canyon hikes. The PU palms provide quite a bit more grip than the synthetic leather palms when wet, but the synthetic leather palms also work just fine and are more breathable. All in all, my family swears by these gloves, which have held up well over multiple seasons.

nice addition for skin protection
Having had a couple pre-cancerous things removed I'm always on the hunt for clothing that will help protect me from the sun, especially when backpacking. I really dislike sunscreen. After seeing a review of these I decided to pick up a pair. They fit really well and allowed me to fish easily without having to remove them since the fingers were open. They dried pretty quickly as well. In the mornings they also provided just a little bit of warmth, but they were also very comfortable in the middle of the afternoon. As some other reviewers have said, the edge near the last knuckle will curl in with some use, espeically at the thumb. Some have cut that material away to reduce chaffing, which is an issue when using hiking poles. But they do their job. My hands were not burnt after 3 days in the back country and I didn't need to use sunscreen.

Good desert hiking gloves
Using them to keep the sun off my hands and to give my hands some cushion and traction on trekking poles. They work great. I don’t really notice they are even there. They really form fit well and almost have to peel them off after the hike. Last hike it was 92 degrees at the end so warm weather approved in my book.

Initial impression is good
Based on other reviewers' input, I thought these would be good gloves. Normally, I am not worried about UV on the backs of my hands. I work outdoors from Mar-Dec and usually wear leather or nitrile-dipped gloves for trail work. These will be for my hiking trip this summer with my son - walking, scrambing, poling. No good for work, but should be okay for what I will use them for. Since I am in the Colorado winter now, cannot comment on their utility or durability. Time will tell.

Great driving gloves
I try to keep the sun off my arms and hands when driving and being a former long haul truck driver and now a motor home owner on the road full-time, protecting my hands from too much sun is important. These gloves are great for that; light weight, easy to put on and get off. Plus they provide some cushioning to the hands while holding the steering wheel for hours on end. I love these gloves.

Why isn't there elastic in the cuff?
I've been using a pair of Glacer Glove sun gloves for many years, and I decided to get a new pair, this time with a more durable palm, so I bought these. I measured my hand as shown in the listing and purchased the correct size. The first time I tried to pull the gloves on after receiving them, I heard a stitch pop as I struggled to get my hand thru the cuff of the glove - there is no elastic in the cuff! Once I got the gloves on the fit around the hand is perfect, but it is a struggle every time to get my hands thru the unyielding cuffs. I've only just started wearing the gloves, so I don't know how long they are going to last, but I'm not expecting much from them if stitches are popping already when I try to put them on.
