I finally broke down a purchased this violin pickup for $270. I have had a few pickups prior but have not been truly satisfied with the sound quality. One of the pickups I got required me to wedge the peso transducer between a space in the bridge of the instrument, this caused a muting effect that dampened the sound quality as if I was putting on my mute, maybe not a drastic as that. but you can definitely tell that the sound is altered. It was a lot of money to spend but after trying it out for the first time, It is worth every penny! If you are looking for a violin/viola pickup, spend the money. trust me, it is worth the investment for the best amplified sound quality you get out of your violin/viola. My only complain is that you have to remove the plug mechanism in order to place your violin/viola back in its case.
