6L Smart Pet Automatic Feeders for Dog and Cat Food Dispenser with Timer Programmable Up to 4 Meals a Day

I Bought this for my 86 yr dad. so he doesn't have to clean the ants off the original open food bowl, bend down frequently (has a bad knee at 6'3" it is hard on him). At first he said the instructions were a little challenging (but I think it is because he was in a rush to set it up so he could do his errands), but once I walked him through it he was able to set it up real easy. He loves it!... He can record his voice so the cats know feeding time. He has 2 cats. He left the big feeder in as shipped and didn't change it out to the small one. It works great for the cats. He has it set 4x a day. The first 3 settings (breakfast,lunch and dinner) are set at 2 and the snack is set at 1 for 9pm feeding. Works great and now the food will last longer then an open container, no ants, and now he doesn't have to frequently refill the old food bowl!! Great product sure wish I ordered an automatic cat feeder sooner!!!!

When shopping for this self feeder, there were many priced significantly higher and i was concerned about sacrificing quality when i was further enticed by this one because it was offered as a discounted lightening deal. I decided to buy it at $48.00 figuring if it's junk at least they offer free return on it and it was the most reasonably priced even prior to the additional discount! We are, so far very pleased! We received it just before Christmas and i programmed it and built a steel enclosure (raccoon proof) for it because we used it to feed outdoor cats while we were away for two weeks visiting our daughter n her family (GRANDKIDS!! YES!!). When we returned home we found the cats sitting on our deck beside the feeder and to our delight there was food in the dispensers tray! It performed magnificently! We have left it there since we returned to verify its satisfactory operation and have absolutely no buyers remorse! It performs wonderfully! Just make sure you tell your wife about the voice recorder! My wife was putting some coffee on one morning when she heard the cat food dropping and then she heard someone calling, "here kitty, kitty, kitty!". She was frightened and immediately ran to tell me that someone was near our deck calling our cats! I said call 911 n i'll go investigate!!! I want to mention one more thing. This feeder comes with a large and a small portion accessory. The large is already installed and you have to remove some small phillips head screws to replace it with the small one. I did that but when i performed the programming and the manual drop i realized it was unnecessary. So i changed back to the large portion accessory. You can program 1-39 portions to be dispensed per feeding. The small one dispenses a mere 5 grams (0.177 ounces) per portion. The large one dispenses not much more per portion, only 10 grams (0.353 ounces). I did the math! Since one portion dispensed from the small accessory is so little, i feel that unless your feeding a shrew it is unnecessary to replace the large portion accessory. It operates on 110v AC with four D cells as battery backup. I believe you'll be quite happy with this feeder!

Since me and my boyfriend both work, him; 8-6 and an hour drive away all week. My job can shift hours, so we needed a way to feed our cat at a set schedule. This feeder does the job perfectly! I like that I can set any portion needed, pick the hours to drop food, and how often she gets fed throughout the day! I also like that it can be plugged in to power the feeder, or it can work on battery power! Have not gotten to clean yet but seems easy. The cons though are mild but I'll add them in. I like the ability to record my voice to call her, but (at least for my cat) she hears the food hitting the bowl to know it's time and really doesn't care for the recording (it's more for us haha) but the recording has bad sound quality and is more quiet than the food dropping, also not sure how to turn it off so a little annoying. Another con is it is a bit difficult to get the correct amount of food per portion. Only has the option of portions between 1 to 39. Level 1 portion is around I'd say a 1/4 cup (I usually like to give her a 1/3) but haven't measured it out to be sure. But I'm sure I'll figure out the portions hopefully soon. Other than those 2 issues, this was worth buying! Ps: I wish the toy that came with it was neutral for both cat or dog. My cat will play with ANYTHING!! But this toy actually stumps her and she doesn't care for it, so kind of a waste of a side product.
