HATCHBOX3D PLA-1KG1.75-UVBLU UV Color Changing PLA 3D Printer Filament, Dimensional Accuracy +/- 0.03 mm, 1 kg Spool, 1.75 mm, UV Blue

I have never had printing issues with Hatchbox's filaments which the most important part of a filament to me. However, the particular color changing feature of this filament did not impress me. The blue faded back into off-white in a few seconds when removed from sunlight.

I bought this out of curiosity, and my curiosity got satisfied, it printed awesome and not just that the color is strong, but when you apply heat like with the touch of your hand, it absolutely turns white... but not like a blueish whit no no no, white! It freaking magic!

Amazing that it turns light blue so quickly outside! Product photographs here on Amazon show it as being white when inside, but it’s more of a dirty, off-yellow that honestly isn’t very attractive. But it has been fun to use.

We ordered the color-changing PLA that turns blue in UV light. It is a great quality product that prints perfectly and removes neatly. The raft is very easy to remove. The color changing is immediate with exposure to UV light.

The media could not be loaded.  I am incredibly impressed with this filament. I didn't change a single setting from my other Hatchbox PLA filaments. I printed a Benchy boat and thought, "Not Bad" then I walked outside with it. This stuff is really cool it changes colors very fast to a vibrant purple, even under overcast skies. I don't normally do video reviews, but this had me too impressed not too. Hatchbox has got my business for life.

This filament prints well, like all Hatchbox products. But my complaint is with the color. It’s advertised as changing from white to blue, but the “white” is more of a pinkish beige, and the final color is more of a blue-purple. (See photo for a comparison between an actual white PLA item and this stuff, when indoors.). The photos on the listing are misleading, they show the filament going from a bright white to a medium blue - the reality is different, and disappointing.

This has to be the coolest filament I own. I had my doubts when I ordered it thinking it wouldn't work that well. I've seen YouTube videos showing it turn colors but figured it could be modified. But I printed a small pill box as soon as I received it and tried it out. As soon as you step into the sun it turns dark blue. When you step out of the sun it goes right back to white. I've printed a spinner, a few types of rings, and the pill box. It's so cool that I'm trying to find things to print with it. I will order this again!
