measurement is metric and only 13"
well constructed but too short (13"), the size of a school ruler, and measurement is metric. Not really a tickle stick

Compact, Sturdy and Secure
I've seen dive masters and leaders with sticks used to point out objects while down below. Never really thought about getting one for myself until I used two fingertips to push off a coral boulder to avoid delicate branches nearby. The rock had a slimy, purple coating which stained the two fingers. Back on the boat, the fingertips were still a little bit purple. For several days, they tingled. I then developed dozens of red bumps all over my torso, thighs and behind my knees. They itched like crazy. I did some research and learned that I'd picked up a toxic chemical off the slime, which was later confirmed by a dermatologist. It's now nearly seven weeks later and they're finally fading away after two rounds of cortisone and daily cream applications. We all know gloves are generally considered a no-no in many marine reserves and parks. I've been diving for 40 years and never had this happen. Yeah, yeah, some snarky commenter will tell me it's all my fault, I wasn't careful, etc., but that's not my point. We're always going to have situations like this and this little stick will always be handy going forward. Not just to avoid rashes, but to hold myself on the sandy bottom, point out lobsters and have fun!

Pointer and diving stick
Lightweight aluminum device for holding yourself in place next to the bottom while in current, to knock on tank for attention or for pointing out something to my buddy. Has a clip to attach to BC.

Nice but be aware the measurement is in cm and not inches
Edited Post:Well it appeared to work well until I actually tried it on a lobster dive last weekend. The stick does not allow me to get an accurate reading of the minimum size. I need to measure from the eye socket to the neck and it is not possible to do this underwater using the stick. It is not really a good tickler as if it was hooked it may have been better.I had to revert to traditional lobster measure because few of my catch which I thought was legal size was measured short on the boat. I threw them all back but if I had been nabbed, it would be $200 per each lobster.I think this item should be sold as a different product then a lobster tickle and measurement device.Nicely made and could be useful for poking at things under water, but not for lobstering.

Great quality… Especially for the price!
I have not use this yet but I have to say I’m impressed with the quality! Especially for the price… I intend to use it to hit against my tank twin trying to communicate with my fellow scuba divers. Possibly also to encourage an octopus to come out and play ( for those of you who do not know, this is not harmful or dangerous to the octopus… They will grab onto it and come out and play)✿◠‿◠

A ‘Must have’ for scuba diving!
This is great for scuba diving! On a recent dive trip to Indonesia, I was in a really strong current. I just stuck this deeply into the sand, I didn’t disturb the sea life, & it helped me to stay in place so I could easily take underwater pictures of the oceanic manta rays circling overhead!!!

Very useful pointer tool!!
I bought this pointer from Amazon & used it recently on a trip to the Philippines. Very helpful in stablizing yourself without having to grab onto anything -- specially those dives with current. With use, the color on the end tip of the pointer does end up coming off. It was very helpful in pointing out small crabs & shrimp to others on the dive -- without scaring the critter into hiding. Will use the pointer on all future dives. Definitely worth what I paid for it. Would absolutely buy another one if something happens to this one!

Nice and light, useful length measurements
Just back from a 12 day live aboard trip in Indonesia. Stick worked well to stabilize for photography and also to attract a small octopus out of its hole. Will definitely make this a staple part of my dive kit.

Baguette magique!
Parfait pour éviter d’abîmer le corail, pour pointer et pour appeler sous l’eau.
