Natural Alum Block After Shaving Balm, 100g

I use Osma Alum block usually which is half the size of this and much more expensive. I bought 2 large alum blocks for £4. They are good quality and work well. My previous blocks were very smooth so slippery when shaving and I dropped it a couple of times and it shatters. This is easier ti handle as it’s slightly rough surface and much larger bar that’s easier to grip. I wet the bar and rub it over my beard area after wet shaving . It’s astringent and stops bleeding from knicks. I also use it as an aluminium free deodorant and it works well for that too. This avoids aerosols in the environment and metal cans so helps the planet. The bars were wrapped in clear plastic though. If this could be swapped to paper that would be better. Would buy again.

I like the size. This is a large Alum block. I use mine to check the quality of my wet shaving technique: any area that I have 'over shaved' stings a tad on contact with the Alum block. It also addresses the occasional small nick (although I use a styptic pencil for gushers). This is a good Alum block that will last a very long time.

This alum block looks like it has been hacked off the side of a mountain! Rough and ready, it's a big, chunky rock that looks like it will last for years. A bit sandy and scratchy to start with, hopefully it will burnish down with time; come back in a few years and I'll let you know! It's certainly effective sorting out nicks and razor burn and oddly, a bit milder on the skin than the more well known brands.

Yes it stings on a just-shaven face - its supposed to. But it seals little nics and cuts like nothing else.Not sure about it also acting like an anti perspirant - i will try that out one day....Recomended.

Last for ages as a Deodorant , just wet it and rub under arms last for over 24hrs ,beats any off the shelf expensive spray deodorant without the scented smell ,,good also if you've nick yourself when wet shaving stops bleeding quickly.

Came cracked, sharp edges, so couldn’t really use, binned after a few weeks

It is cheap yes but the quality is there.Would usually buy the small french more expensive one but this had been my go to for a month now and its great
