Hi, we have it on our super king size bed mattress and it has loads of skirt goes under the mattress all the way around 

It's deep. I have a mattress and a memory foam topper and it goes over both easily.

Does it remember your settings when you plug it in? And does it start to heat automatically or do you have to hit buttons

You need to switch it on to the setting you require each time, it then heats up and you switch it off when you get into bed or before you go to sleep. I leave mine on while I read or feel too warm then turn it off. There are 3 settings on mine. I always use No, 3. It heats up quickly. I put mine on about 15 minutes before I get into bed. If I wake up feeling cold during the night I switch it on to a lower setting. It does not switch on and off automatically.

How deep is the skirt please? My mattress is 36cm deep and I can't seem to find one to fit

I returned this item because the foot area did not heat up. The blanket fitted the bed also a deep mattress and heated well otherwise but I wanted the foot area to heat so...
