Do you need to prep (multiple washes/drying) these like cloth diapers before first use to get full absorbency?

I never used cloth diapers so I cant compare, but they do absorb pretty well, but they do soak through, just not as bad as regular underwear. So it definalty helps with accidents, not a bad clean up.

I have some for my son pee sometimes soaks through and gives it a pee smell is it because I shouldn’t give him liquids after a certain time?

My son has accidents sometimes still, but the only time I’ve had a lingering smell was when I took too long to wash them. I now have a bucket with a little water and detergent that I soak them in until I’m ready to clean them like cloth diapers.

Have these ever confused your child between regular underwear with potty training?

These are just thicker underwear. Great for training better then pull ups. Still gets kiddos to realize they're wet and doesn't just absorb like a diaper

Would these work well for overnight to replace a nighttime diaper?

No! They are just like panties but a little thicker
