JDM Rangeman, a G-Shock on steroids - Very Highly Recommended!
This Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) release was in OEM new condition ... unboxing was awesome, G-Shock box in perfect condition, Japanese manual in its compartment and plastic sleeve, watch was nestled on a watch pillow with it's Japanese tags in place ... just a perfect OEM example of the JDM Rangeman, could not be happier. Love the colored band with the carbon fiber insert (something the U.S. models didn't have), which increases the durability of this model. The quality parts and construction enhances the overall look and feel of the watch. Wears great on my 7 1/2" - 7 3/4" wrist, and the same easy setup process as my last Rangeman. A great add to my collection and the Rangeman released here in the States that I purchased awhile back. If you can get your hands on one of these, worth every penny. Very highly recommended, don't think about it, just buy it ... you can thank me later!

Great watch
Shipping was fine, and I'm very happy with the watch. It has a tough time syncing the time, but it might just be the location I'm in. It will work sometimes but not others. I downloaded an app for my phone that can play tones to sync it, so it's no biggie. Aside from that, the finish of the watch is great, and I love the features. Sure, it has a compass, barometer, etc., but let's not forget it's all packed onto a casio watch. There are more accurate tools available, but it's good for the price and convenience. The band is solid and surprisingly comfortable. The backlight works well and stays on for a few seconds after pressing the button. Overall I'm very happy and would purchase again.

Great Casio Japan only G-Shock
I haven't owned a digital watch since probably the early 90s. I prefer Citizen, Seiko, the Bulova Precisionist line, and Rolex. I decided I wanted a digital watch again, for times when I'm messaging around in the yard, garage, etc. My last digital was a Casio G- Shock, so I started looking at that line. Back when I had my last Casio, there was only one model. Now there are literally dozens. Started narrowing down to what I wanted. I wanted something that was a bit unique and I found this G-Shock. With it being a Japan market only issue, yellow on the underside of the band, which also had a carbon fiber insert, figured I wouldn't be seeing a bunch of the same in my area. When I put it on, I started to laugh because it was so light (and comfortable) compared my titanium Seiko Astron. I found myself wearing this watch a lot this summer. I love that it syncs every night to theAtomic Clock, and is solar as well. I like the other features with the sensor, too. Since I had several different Casios from the time of grade school on up, it is also sort of a nostalgia piece for me, too. Great watch overall.

Japanese Market Model Casio Rangeman GW-9400YJ-1JF
Bought from ECbase, in stock at Amazon USA so arrived in 3 days. Paid a bit more compared to minimum seller's price if shipped from Japan but very fast delivery and this is the first time that a Japanese market Casio I have bought has included a English language manual and a clearly marked international Casio warranty card with watch serial number information and seller's information filled in. Excellent service. This is the Japanese market version with the 2 layer carbon fiber strap. The watch itself includes compass, altimeter, barometer and temperature readings. It also can calculate sunrise and sunset times for any location and date once the latitude and longitude are input and stored. The stopwatch is ultra wide range from 1/100 second to 1000 hours. Count down timer and 5 alarms are also included features. The sunrise/sunset calculation is good for amateur astronomers, hikers, climbers, campers and anyone engaged in outdoor activities that might not be safe for performing at night. I have checked it against the sunrise and sunset times listed by the Weather Channel local broadcast and they are correct within a minute or so for sunrise. Sunset in my area is earlier than the watch calculates by about 3 minutes as Reno is close to the Sierra Nevada mountains shadow and the watch calculation assumes a smooth spherical Earth. No Bluetooth but I do not want it. I prefer the solar charging and radio time synchronizing capability of this watch. A minor point but this Japanese domestic model does not come in the G Shock hexagonal metal box but in a mire standard black watch box.

Great watch!!
First thing first, props to the seller, the watch came nicely packaged with a thank you note and a small card adivising you that the manual is in japanese but you can download the manual in any language, they provide a web address and more conveniently a qr code to do so. This watch is a japanese exclusive release, but as far as I know it is only the aesthetic (yellow carbon fiber band wich is worth it imo, casios are not famous for the durability of the bands so i hope it lasts longer) other than that the watch is a rangeman (is good), you are not buying it directly from casio, but fear not, the seller is legit. Now the watch … first of all the watch is prettier than the photos tell you, it is beautiful, the yellow accent adds some kind of personality to the timepiece, and the dual color band looks really cool that is why i choose this one over the regular rangeman. this is my first gshock in years, altough i have a few pro treks and since this is a triple sensor watch I know what it was from the beginning, the features are there altimeter, barometer, compass, the pressure graph is longer than in my protrek prg600 so that is nice, the watch adds radio controlled time, so it will not lose accuracy over time, everything is there it has more features than the digi ana protreks have, like navigation with the compass, altough very basic it can be useful, it can also let you know about sudden variations in the air pressure, quick access to the chronograph, everything, this watch is the one you should get, yes the mudmaster is nice but feature wise this watch is the best.
