Works perfectly but don't ignore the advice, cold water can break them - be warned!

Lasted 3 weeks. Not fit for purpose.
This item worked perfectly for 3 weeks, used only for boiling water in a small pan. One morning, still in the bottom of the pan, I found it had developed a fracture that nearly split it in half.Very disappointed and would not recommend this product.I think the problem is that the glass is too thin and not substantial enough, unlike the original Pyrex ones; therefore not fit for purpose.I have written to the manufacturer.

Sturdy glass
I love the way it alerts me to the milk beginning to boil. I've not had spilt milk since I got it :)

A useful implement
Having lost the original I bought the replacement only to lose it to my daughter and so had to buy another one.

Useful tool
Delivered promptly and as described. I had one of these years ago and lost it during house moves. Good to find another.

Excellent Product.
Had one of these 50 years ago and it was very useful. This one bought as a present for an old friend. These are still being manufactured (in France) and the price, around £6, is very reasonable. Why would any buyer want to spend £100 on an old one (absolutely identical to any £6 new one) is beyond me! (Greedy sellers advertising for greedy prices. Caveat emptor!)

TERRIBLE QUALITY DONT BUY
I ordered 2 of these and both of them have broken within 2 uses. Terrible quality, do not buy.

Cracked so replaced after maximum 100 uses
Useful for boiling milk for yoghurt making - but cracked and no longer safe to use after 4 years - and maximum 100 uses. I have replaced with the same for the convenience of it but really: made and then used and washed properly one of these should last for thousands of uses. Judging by other reviews this breaking wasn't rare.

Haven't yet ordered another. However, it must have been heavier than a metal one I got, which weighs 35 g but isn't heavy enough to rattle loud enough to be heard unless you're right near it. Perhaps the sellers could tell you. If the weight is critical, it might be worth finding out how much the Pyrex version weighs.
