I am confused about the spoon with the toothed clip. What is it used for?

The spoon measures the correct amount for a 750 ml teapot about half the small tea "ball". The correct fill for loose tea is half the ball to allow for expansion and proper flow. The clip is very handy. We keep ours clipped to the shelf above the electric kettle next to the loose tea.

Will this fit into a wide mouth hydro flask?

I bought the set that has 2 small infusers and 1 larger one. I use the small infuser with berries in my Built flask. the diameter of the small ones are 1 5/8 inches

Can you put this in a tea kettle after the desired temp?

Yes! Depending on the size of your kettle, it should fit. The hook at the end of the chain is also useful for easy removal once the tea has finished steeping.

What is the diameter of the smaller tea infuser? I want to hang this down into a carafe that has a 1 3/4” opening. Anyone know of a skinny infuser?

The illustration is for the bottom of the infuser (1.5 in) but the screw top lid is wider, thus an effective diameter of 1.75 inch.
