Does this toothbrush have the quad pacer? ie. Does it beep every 30 seconds while brushing for the 2 minutes?

I gave this toothbrush as a gift so I had to ask the recipient. He reported that it has the quad pacer and that it works well. He also said that the sonic brand is much better the the one he used before.

why do they stop working after a year? very loud vibrating like a jack hammer noise...

Call Phillips. It should still be under warranty. I think 2 years. They replaced mine.
