Herbivore Botanicals Organic Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask

Absolutely love it...You will start noticing difference in your skin within a week of using it..It really improves the skin appearance..makes it clear and glowing..best use it along lapis oil of the same brand..magical!!!

So far, I've only used it a handful of times, yet I definitely feel like it's doing something. Leaves skin feeling incredibly soft and looking really smooth (i.e. minimizes the look of pores) immediately after washing off but also throughout the day. Expensive, but worth the splurge if you want to treat your face well, ever so often.

This is one of my favorite products. I only wish it came in a larger size! I read the negative reviews on this product and want to give a heads up on a few things to anyone who is thinking of buying this product:1. This is a resurfacing mask. It uses enzymes to remove dead skin from the surface of your face, and this includes removing surface-level blemishes, improving the appearance of the skin. It is not specifically intended to moisturize the skin. I do no think it is drying, but moisturizing is not the stated intent of the product.2. Resurfacing can be slightly painful. This mask does tingle and even burns ever-so-slightly, but overall it is a very mild resurfacer and many are more painful.3. This is not a mud mask or a paper mask or a peel mask. It is a bluish-green, runny gel. It is reminiscent of slime. It goes on in a clearish-bluish-green and is difficult to remove with just water. Gentle removal with a cloth is recommended.4. This product is not scented with perfumes. Therefore, it smells like blue tansy, which has an earthy, almost mushroomy smell. If you are expecting an aromatherapeutic experience, you should look at another product.5. This is not a miracle product. Like any product, you should not expect this product to revolutionize your face overnight. You should use it daily for the first week and then go to a few times per week.6. If your expectations are appropriate, you may love this product. I have acne scars, and within a week I did notice my complexion being much brighter and smooth, with some of the scarring already fading.

I love this mask. Instantly helps to reduce redness, calm any acne flare ups, and leave my skin feeling so soft and clear. The smell really bothered me at first, but I got used to it. I will definitely be keeping this product in my skin care line-up. I bought it first from Sephora, but their shipping takes too long so I tried amazon. The product I got from Sephora was a bright blue mask, however when I got it from amazon, the color was a brown-ish green. I read all the warnings about this being a natural product, so the color might change with time. Well the dark green color indicated to me that what I got from amazon had been sitting on my shelf for QUITE some time (the one I bought from Sephora sat on the shelf for months before I used it all up and never changed colors). So I love this mask, but would caution anyone from getting it on amazon because it is probably an old product.

I haven’t yet tried the Blue Tansy Mask, but I wanted to take a moment to mention the great customer service when I emailed the company to inquire about the color of the mask. For those who are concerned that their BLUE Tansy mask looks GREEN, this is how the Herbivore Botanicals customer service promptly responded to my question about whether the product I received was fresh and whether it would be safe/effective for use:“Thanks for reaching out to us! That's a great question. As all of our products are made with natural ingredients, it's normal for them to change in color over time. In the case of the Blue Tansy Mask, it can change from a deep blue/gray to mossy green. This does not indicate that the product has gone bad or is no longer effective to use. We recommend continuing to store it in a cool, dark place and using it within the 12-month shelf-life. The lot code you provided indicates that the product is still perfectly fresh as it was packaged in October :)”Hope that helps anyone worried about whether they may have received a bad batch. I’m looking forward to trying the mask out.

So the price scared me at first, but here's my story and review.... I have old cysts (from cystic acne) that did not want to dissolve with AHA and BHA serums, peels, masks...they didn't want to go away. I even used higher end stuff with 'guaranteed results'. I have fair skin and these cysts look like bruises on my face. I was super hesistant, but I saw reviews on here and on Sephora. I had to take a chance because of rave reviews. The recommended primary step is to use 4 nights in a row and these reduce to like 2-3 times a week. After the first use, two of my cysts were 'scraped' at the top and raised to the surface. Out of curiosity, I decided to pop it, and the old gunk that was underneath had finally popped out! My dark spots and cysts are diminishing slowly, but surely...actually, compared to other products, quite rapidly. The smell doesn't bother me much, but I have a bad sense of smell. Very herb-y... As for pores, mine are super stubborn, so it may take a while to see those results, but I'm patient.
