A decent, powerful and versatile food processor
This is a decent food processor, although a tad disappointing considering that Brabantia is usually a high-quality brand. As a Brabantia bin-owner, I can vouch for their durability and quality. However, the food processor doesn't feel as strong and I really struggled with getting the plastic lid on and off the bowl. It looks as though it should slide round to lock into place -- the instructions state to twist the lid clockwise following the four visual alignment markers. The food processor won't work until the bowl and lid are locked, but this took some doing! It isn't easy to twist the lid once it's on the bowl and it's very brittle plastic which scratched the sides of the bowl when I twisted it.The chrome base looks smart and fits neatly on my kitchen countertop, with all of its many attachments stored away. This food processor has all that you need to blend, mash, puree, slice and mix food. It also has a citrus attachment which is great for juicing oranges, as well as a glass grinding cup for dried food. I enjoy making nut roast and the grinding cup makes short work of mixing the nuts.Overall, the pros are that it's a powerful processor with lots of different uses; it looks stylish; and the attachments are mostly good-quality.The cons: it wasn't easy to figure out how to use; the instruction leaflet is very basic and I have to squint to see the tiny illustrations in the "parts and features" section showing how it goes together; and the plastic bowl and lid are quite flimsy.

An impressive, solidly made piece of kit.....
I was delighted to receive this Food Processor. I use a food processor virtually every day and although I have been happy with my current Kenwood processor I have always felt I made the wrong choice and should have bought one that held larger quantities. This Brabantia Food Processor has an really solid feel to it - nothing light and flimsy about any of the parts. After unpacking (and washing) the different bits and pieces I confidently set about making one of my favourite recipes - Banana and Pineapple Loaves. I used double the suggested quantities but the blender jug had no trouble at all mixing the eggs and bananas to a lovely froth. I love the fact that the blender jug is made of toughened glass rather that plastic.Next I decided to make pastry. For this I needed to use the knife blade and mixing bowl. I could find the knife blade but failed utterly to locate the "moving axle sleeve" that it needed to fit into to operate. Very frustrated! I emailed Brabantia and Amazon Vine explaining the problem. Then daughter arrived and she spotted that the "moving axle sleeve" was actually attached to the dough mixer - I had thought this was a solid part but in fact it clicked apart quite easily. Bingo! Pastry made in a trice. (I must congratulate Brabantia on a really quick response to my email)There are three shredding and grating discs and they all work really well. I now have a pile of chopped vegetables waiting to be turned into soup! For review purposes I tried out the citrus press. It is easy to use and extracts plenty of juice. However if only one or two lemons are called for in a recipe I will probably continue to squeeze these by hand.To use a machine such as this it is important to get the storage right - nothing worse than scrabbling round the back of a cupboard looking for the right shredding disc! This is a very impressive, solidly made, serious piece of kitchen kit. Compared with other machines around it is also great value.

Blenders plastic bits came off first time I used it
It was really good product until I used the blender and bits of plastic came off and therefore sent it back for a full refund as there was no replacement. I had bought it at a special price and when looking around other ones were too expensive. The juicer was excellent I just think I had a faulty blender unfortunately.

good machine to have around the kitchen, doing several things well
This is an all in one sort of processor, a long way from the single knife that you used to get. This comprises a knife, and three slicers/cutters, plus grinder and jar for grinding, a citrus juice extractor, and a blender. (and a mincing cup). Overall, having tried all the functions we liked this very much. We didnt like the time we had to spend working out how to fit the steel blade. This took us about forty five minutes. The secret is that the so-called "moving axle sleeve" comes attached to the dough tool. Reading the instruction manual will not help you here. You will come to the conclusion that you are missing a part and scan the internet and look for a phone number. then your clever wife or girl friend or partner or daughter will hit on the secret which is that the moving axle sleeve fits very snugly into the dough tool and is already fitted. It is easily separated (now I am telling you) from each other by compressing the side of the axle sleeve. this allows the dough tool to be removed and the stainless steel knife fixed.we tried all the functions, they work really well, even the citrus extractor works to remove all the juice and the fruit from the pith, thus getting all the goodness out. The three slicers work really well, absolutely brilliant. The blender blends well, the jug is really heavy, which I like though my wife does not, but you can put hot stuff in (not too hot) no bother. It isnt particularly quiet, but then its a 1kw motor, It does say if you operate for more than 30 continuous seconds you should rest for up to three minutes. the main switch covers pulse, off, and continuously increasing from slow to fast. I would have liked this better if the switch had a more positive click to it, it was a little bit floppy to my feel. The unit itself has got sticky/sucker feet which work really wellWe liked it but we did not give it five because of the lousy instructions or lack of them, and the rather insecure feel we got from the main control unit and the fact that you cannot grind coffee beans, spices or grains unit.I guess it dulls the edge of the blades. Actually we may have been a little hard with four. As a kitchen workhorse it seemed quite good value to us, doing several things quite well.
