LG AN-VC300 Skype Camera TV Webcam (AN-VC300)

My son recently moved to Muscat, Oman for a job. Since texting and phoning is prohibitively expensive, we have moved to VOXing and he started to bug me about Skyping. I did not want to buy one of those jicky little cameras and wanted to use my 55" LV Smart TV to do it with. AFter some investigating on reviews, I decided that this camera, although a little pricy, was what I wanted. My only issue is that this television comes with 2 USB ports, one of which you have to use for your WiFi and the other we were using for the remote wand that will allow you to get on the internet easily. So we went back to using the original remote for the tv which did not require a usb port and all was well. It works easily, was simple installation - love that I now see my grandchildren on my television, my son and my best friend in Dallas. So I would totally tell anyone and eveyone that had a LG television to order this - the price from Amazon was the best I could find (by far) and I went ahead and did the overnight thing, since once I ordered it I was impatient to get it. It was here the next morning. EXCELLENT JOB AMAZON.

Plug and play. As soon as I installed it on on My LG TV, it was recognized and I could make Skype calls immediately. Very nice picture and the microphones work well too.

I would give the camera itself 4 stars but its frustrating that I was limited to one camera option for my LG TV. And it was overpriced when standard webcams are half the price. The camera worked right away after plugging it in and the video quality is good. Only frustration is that it tilts up and down but not left/right so we often have to pick it up or turn the TV. Not that I have another camera option though.

Nice camera and great picture, but doesnt allow the TV to show the other party on video when Skyping with a computer. Not sure what the problem is, going to follow up with LG to see if they have a fix.

A perfect match for my LG 3D TV 55LW5600. It's very simple to use just plug and play. It has 4X zoom in/out, side by side creen mode, mute, etc...It's crystal clear HD quality all the way. This webcam is made for LG smart TV call LG customer service they'll tell if whether or not your model is compatible that's how I got the model number placed the order right away. Amazon has the lowest price on the net. Ebay listings cost twice as much.

It said it worked on LG TV's but after ordering and hooking it up it didn't. The TV wouldn't even recognize it. So I did some research. This model is only for 2011 TV but it took live chatting with someone from LG to figure that out!

I purchased this for my mom's LG Internet TV. This was very simple to hookup and use: plug in the USB connection, start the TV's Skype application, login to Skype (a one time event) and then the TV could make and receive Skype video calls. The camera was very easy to hang onto the TV. It looks stylish and a blue light comes on when the camera is active, so you know when the camera is on and off. My only wish is the camera had a way to swivel - you have to swivel the entire TV to aim the camera if the user isn't straight in front of the camera.

I went on amazon and found this camera for $79.95 after finding it online at another place for #129.95. It worked great. Plugged it in and started working. So Easy and quality of picture is great. Really happy with this purchse.
