Dr. Martens Women's 1490 W 10 Eye Boot

I just got the smooth black 1490 boot. I was so confused by the reviews and size chart but I ended up going with the U.K. Size 6/US size 8. Now I am a TRUE size 8.5 in US sizes, I've worn an 8.5 for years, and I'm glad I sized down instead of up. There is PLENTY of room in this boot, I'm going to be adding an insole to it and I can still wear a thick sock even with an extra insole. They need some breaking in but I wore them for 8 hours today with only mild discomfort and will do it again tomorrow. I highly recommend this boot, it is an authentic doc marten as far as I can tell everything is legit and it came in doc marten packaging with tags. This boot retails on the doc marten website for $140, I was able to get it on amazon for $110 and that includes overnight priority shipping. I am thrilled with my purchase and will be buying more martens from this seller in the near future.

I got these on amazon for $15 cheaper and with prime shipping, compared to the Doc Martens official site. My last pair lasted me 6 years of harsh and constant wear in a wide variety of climates and enviroments. This is my third pair of docs and ill most likely never ever buy another brand as long as i live. They are top notch quality and comfort, for every kind of wear, be it work or a cute date outfit. I feel as though the reviews about them being hard to break in or uncomfortable must be by people unfamiliar with real leather boots. I worse mine for a 12 hour work shift on my feet on a concrete kitchen floor, fast paced enviroment, running inside and out on uneven ground, with no break. And my feet and legs hurt LESS than they do with any other shoes after even an 8 hour work day. I will never reccomend anything but Docs to people looking for boots or quality work shoes. Im confident that with a bit better care than my last pair got, these ones will last me a decade.

Ordered for a US Women's size 7.5/8 in the UK size 6 EU 39 and they fit, just not snuggly enough. I am a US 7.5 and getting a boot that's supposedly for either 7.5/8 I thought would be sufficient, but I think it's still somewhat to large. I have to pull the boot strings really taunt and tight to get the fit I want even with thick socks. However, having more room means no blisters while breaking them in. I think honestly I should get a US Women's size 7 UK size 5, and go a half size down and not up, but not sure if that will be too small or too tight with no room at all. I would hate going back and forth, back and forth and all I want to do is wear my new shoes.Overall, the look of the boot, has a matte black and looks great. The feel of the outside was smooth and the inside had a lot of cushion. I've had Pleasers/Demonia's and other boot like shoes but, having my first pair of real "Doc's" feel and are designed so much better. I'm torn to send them back for the smaller size or just keep the somewhat larger size for added assurance.

I'll start by saying I looked for a LONG time for the perfect combat boot that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I've had other styles of Dr. Marten's before and love the quality so that was where I started, and eventually ended, my search. I have odd feet, thanks to a childhood accident I have a bone protrusion on the top of my foot making my foot extra "tall" right where most shoes have straps or ties. Knowing this, I sometimes have to get shoes in one size larger to keep them from being too tight. I wear a women's US 8.5 so I went to a mall to try on the 6 UK and 7 UK. The 6 UK was PERFECT in length but it was unbearably tight on my messed up foot. This style of boot seems to be a bit snug across the top of your foot, right above the arch, even if I didn't have weird feet it might be too tight to wear for long periods.So I got the UK 7/9 M US and wear them with two pairs of socks to keep my heel from slipping, the socks make it snug across the top of my foot but nothing so bad that I can't wear them all day at work (I work in an office). The socks make them so toasty and that's perfect because I live in Iowa and plan to wear these throughout the winter. I also love the height of the 10 eyelet over the basic 1460 version, tall enough to cover leggings (I'm 5'9" so sometimes leggings look more like capris) without being too tall to go too far up my calf. Very versatile style-wise, I love that they don't have a zipper, though that does make putting them on slightly more time consuming.There are slight abrasions on the top of the tongue on the right boot (likely where the eyelets rub) and the shiny "finish" is scraped off. That does make me a little nervous on the rest of the shoe to see how it wears at the flex points. I've only had them a month or so and worn them out three times.Overall I'm happy with the quality for the money and hope they last for years.***Update 12/26/15***I've added a couple of photos to give a better idea of the height of the boot. Keep in mind that I'm 5'9". I'm wearing two pairs of socks in the photo, grey on the inside and black over those (against the boot). The extra socks prevented unnecessary wear on the backs of my heels, I haven't had to bleed at all breaking them in! And the tops of the boots stretched a bit and I find them to be so comfortable! We finally got a bit of snow and I can't wait to try out the traction (the ultimate test for a boot in Iowa).

For all of the people out there having trouble with Doc's sizing...for this particular pair/style, I went a size down and they fit great. I think the unisex sizing runs larger in the toe box. I am usually a women's regular width size 7 in just about everything. I ordered a 6 and they fit so well. I hope this helps some of you. Sharp, smooth leather. Takes a bit to break in, but so worth the wait and wear!

Amazing shipping, it only took five days from the UK to Canada. The boots are excellent, smooth, shiny black. The leather is harder than I thought it would be but the reviews said they would be. The best part of this purchase is the price. I saved $60 to $70. Can't wait to wear them out. Thanks!

Ich habe den Schuh für meine Tochter bestellt. Die Schuhe sehen aus, wie erwartet. Jedoch war der rechte Schuh nicht so gut verarbeitet. Die Doppelnaht hinten ist sehr hart und dick und die Quernaht vorne über der Kappe ebenfalls. Mit dem linken Schuh gab es überhaupt kene Problem, der ist ziemlich passgenau. Allerdings musste ich den rechten Schuh zum Weiten und zum Geschmeidigmachen der besagten Nähte zum Schuster bringen. Ansonsten sind die Schuhe ein echter Hingucker.

einfach nur tolle schuhe mit sehr guter qualität. Auch die Farben sind sehr schön ins gesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden.
