When I installed one of these last year the directions were absolutely horrible. They were obviously written by someone unfamiliar with the English language. If you've never installed a closer before you would probably have a hard time installing this one with its instructions.

Can I use this door closer to prevent the door from opening more than 80 degrees?

iF you mount it perfectly 80 degrees should be no problem, but 90 degrees is difficult.

Will this prevent a door from slamming shut in the wind?

Depends on the direction of the wind. Wind blowing in same direction as closing door will cause it to slam.
