Great Sound & Made in UK
Using the greenback in a 1x12 cabinet with a Bad Cat Judah head. Sounds great right out of the box. Stew Mac always delivers quality, and was responsive to questions before the purchase. As you may know - the country of origin for Celestions can be tricky but Stew delivered on the UK made model at a fair price.

Great speaker. Classic
Great speaker. Classic. Would have liked the ability to return it like most products on Amazon but not the case here so you better know what u want.

A dissenting view: not flattering in most amps, much cheaper equivalent speakers available
First, some context: I play clean/low gain stuff through a variety of 1x12 combo amps (Vox, Fender, Swart). I've had a bunch of Celestion speakers swapped into and out of my amps over the past 5 years: this Greenback, a non-Heritage G12M Greenback, a G12H30 Anniversary, a G12H-75 Creamback, and a G12M-65 Creamback. So, this is the second low-wattage G12M I've tried and I just do not really like them in most of my amps. They are too flubby in the bass, with an almost overpowering low end really. I also find the lower mids are just too prominent. Maybe in a band context with gain it sounds good, but I don't like it for my use case in MOST amps. I do like that they break up very early with a beautiful growl. And in the right amp and right situation, it can work decently. The kicker is, I think there are speakers that give nearly identical sound at a much lower price, namely the Mojotone BV-25, which I also have, and which to my ears is indistinguishable from this speaker. Now, the G12M-65 Creamback, I do like a lot, and one currently lives in my Vox. I find that a lot more balanced with just enough beautiful woody midrange. I also get along very well with the H-series, which have a tighter bass, more upper-mids instead of lower mids, and are moderately brighter. But the G12M Heritage and G12M 25 are very hit-or-miss in my experience.

As good as any boutique Greenback clone
I have a Marshall cabinet from the late 60's which has three of its original Greenback speakers, one must have been blown in its lifetime and replaced with a generic brand speaker. I replaced that speaker with this one. I does sound different than the three originals. A little more brighter and defined. Then again, this is a brand new speaker compared to the originals that are 50 years old. This speaker sounds exactly like the "Scumback" M75s which are touted as being the best, or one of the best Greenback clone speakers made by all the "cork-sniffers" out there. I ended up buying this speaker instead of the Scumback because it sounds exactly the same but it also looks nearly identical to the originals, where the Scumback does not.

Celestion greenbacks!!
Upgraded my blues jr stock speaker with this. Much better tone and the highs are a lot less harsh now. The made in England celestion is fantastic.
