Metal is better
nice and solid, heavy metallic. Seems much better than the plastic ones. I don't have to worry so much about stripping the threads.

Good quality
Very nice valve, replaced my plastic one and it works like a charm.

Works great
If you already have a hot water recycle pump on your water heater, this is a good way to add a second loop to your system. I hooked up my kitchen first, but my second floor bathrooms were not getting the benefit. Now I have this valve in an upstairs bathroom and it now has nearly instant hot water too. This one is much sturdier than the plastic one that came with the pump system. Works great, 5 out of 5 would recommend.

Good valve but difficult installation
The sensor valve appears well made and seems to work properly. I did find it more difficult to install than expected. This is a difficult job at best because there are multiple connections to be made in the cabinet underneath a sink. The gasket seating surfaces on the 1/2” female fittings are machined differently from the Grundfos valve I was replacing, such that it was very difficult to engage the threads on the faucet supply tubing assemblies. I tried one particular Everflow brand hose that would not engage at all, and all four connections were difficult. I also noted that, although the mounting hole spacing matched the Grundfos part, the holes were smaller and the screws provided resulted in a less secure mounting. I will try a different brand next time.

Good replacement for Watts
I installed this on the farthest faucet set to replace the watts one (nothing wrong with it) to see if there are any issues with functionality. Happy to report the same operation with piece of mind coming from using metal over the plastic factory supplied one. These work at the farthest end of the hot water loop and allows the uncirculated hot water, which eventually cools, to go back into the cold water side and back into the system for reheating on the cold water supply side. This works just like the original without issue so far. Other than the weight of metal components, the brass gives some piece of mind for long term use. Will report back if leakage or inefficient operation is noticed for recirculation loop.

If your looking for a replacement for sure get this instead of the plastic one. You won't regret it.
What can I say. This sensor valve is metal instead of plastic. It looks and works just like the plastic ones but is brass. It seems to be made well. Installation was as easy as any other sensor valve and it seems to work as it should.

No adapters and hoses
This bypass valve works as expected and seem to be well made. It requires a central or local re-circulation pump to increase hot water pressure. The valve opens when the hot water side temperature falls below threshold (typically aroudn 104 F) and closes once the temperature reaches the threshold. When it opens, it allow cold water from the hot water line to be discharged into the cold line to save water. Otherwise the cold water is discharged or used less comfortably. This valve itself is of good quality. The reason to lower my rating is that you only get the valve and almost nothing else like the adapters and hoses shown in the description. If you add costs and time to get it to work, it's costly.
