I have a gasoline powered 2 inch potable water pump that I use to transfer water from my 500 gallon water trailer to a 2,650 gallon water cistern. The pump has 2 inch male cam and groove fittings. I purchased two of these 2 inch Banjo 200CAP Polypropylene Cam & Groove Fittings to keep dust, insects, and field mice out of the water pump. I've been using them for several months now and they have proven to be very handy. It beats stuffing the pump fittings with plastic grocery bags, which I occasionally have to chase down when it's windy.
