Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone, Black

I just got my first couple hours out of this mic, and I gotta say the audio quality is superb for the price point. I haven’t owned a microphone before that’s sounded nearly as good, especially out of the box without any post-processing. Setup is also really simple, just plug it in through USB or through USB-C with the included adapter, and then optionally plug a pair of headphones into the mic to passthrough sound and mic playback. The mic is also RGB lit and reacts to if it’s muted or not, which adds to the aesthetic if that’s important to you, and has a small touch-based button to mute/unmute. It’s a great piece of hardware from the time I spent with it but if anything changes I’ll come back to this review.

Solid built quality with a heavy feel and a very nice desk top stand This thing is beautifully made. I just plugged it and it works. Nothing else to install. In addition I also plugged in my headphones to listen to the playback. Ok it can pick up some outside sounds like a leaf blower going on outside my house or rustles around you but as long as your recording room is very quiet this microphone works very well without having to spend huge amount of money. I am this using for video voiceovers on with Cyberlink video editing software. . It works with virtually an program. I even used my NCH Voxal Voice changer software with this and it works beautifully. I have to see if it can be made to work with my iPad also, but I am told I would need a powered USB hub for that as this needs power to work and the iPad does not have enough power. I am so happy I am going to go look at what else they have.

Super recording quality. Easy to set up and easy to configure.

Likes: higher-quality audio compared to the AT2020USB+, minimalistic features and style, works with everything that has a USB port, and was generally pretty easy to set up.Dislikes: no software to customize the microphone, very pricy (even with the sale), and doesn't include any microphone essentials such as a windscreen, pop filter, or other accessories (a mild nitpick). It's already implied, but you need high-quality studio headphones or speakers to really take advantage of the sound quality.Keep in mind that some people may not be able to hear the difference in audio as it's a separate issue on the recipient's part (or not at all, depending on the context).

I was in the market to upgrade the sound of my USB microphone. I own a Rode NT USB, but it's now a little too flat sounding for my taste and needs - and has no mute button. After some research and watching demos on the inyternty I bought the Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X . It delivers amazing clarity, boost and has a touch sensitive mute button. The headphone volume is great and it comes with a mounting nut so you can put it on a boom arm. Please note that if you are thinking of buying this microphone you should also buy a pop filter. it's very sensitive as are most high quality microphones... the rest is about your technique. Gorgeous clear sound 10+.

My son requested this microphone as a Christmas gift. He loves it and uses it daily. Durable and provides high vocal clarity.

Sounds great easy install

Sent the wrong product, inside was the Model AT2020USB+ instead. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great mic and great brand, I just feel scammed because I didn’t get what I was really expecting.
