Q: Is this sturdy enough for an almost 20 lb ginormous orange tabby cat?

Yes! I have a 20lb ginormous cat who loves it! He feels safe and secure on all levels of it. I didn’t attach it to the wall with the provided tools, but I do have it against the wall. He and my kitten jump all over it and I haven’t had any issues with it.

It's 34 inches at its widest part (the lowest cubbyhole and the side shelf. 23 inches deep, and about 5 ft 2 inches tall, so the 61.5 inches part is correct. Hope this helps.

Q: Will it support a 30 pounder?

My cat is around 25lbs and he has trouble navigating the very narrow room this has to go from one level to the next. He tries to go in the boxes but most of him sticks out. My 10lb cat has no trouble getting around this. I also removed the top two perches to try to get the big one a more stable place to lay but it didn’t matter because he has trouble with getting up there. Your big cat may be more nimble than mine. Hope this helps.

Q: Is this good for big cats?

My cats are about 12, 11, and 9 pounds. The smallest one fits and likes the little hideaways and uses it quite a bit. The other two only sometimes, because they don't fit as well, and never stay as long. So, I would say that if your cat(s) are truly big, this may not work well.
