This product surprised me! Without knowing what to expect, I bought this as a Christmas present for my niece and nephew (ages 8 and 4) so we can craft together. The immediate gratification both kids received with a stroke of a paint stick sent them into a frenzy of making art. It was great!The sticks allow you to overlap color very easily. If one color got stuck on a stick, we would just wipe the stick on a spare sheet of paper to get rid of any pigment conflict and off the kids would go painting some more. It was a concern that the paint would get muddy over time, but they remained vibrant and true to their hue.Dry time was super fast. The heavier you lay it on, the slower it is to dry, but there wasn't any stray paint on clothes, carpets, or hands. Impressive considering the four-year-old like to move around a lot.Color options were great! The blend of neon, metallic, and traditional colors meant the kids could get excited about their creations and have a whole range of colors to work with. There wasn't any issue with color-hogging because they were so drawn to each and every paint option.Overall, it seemed to be much more satisfying for the kids to work with than something like crayons. It was so darn easy to get started and clean up, too. Both kids were thrilled with their art and I even had a fun time pushing these simple paint sticks around. If you are having doubts as to whether or not this would be a good crafting gift for young ones, don't fret! They'll love 'em.

I have bought a few different kinds and King Art surprisingly was really great! Vibrant, smooth, and easy to use. Traveled to Poland from the US with them in checked bags. Made the journey just fine and were a big hit with my elementary art classes. Use them just like a glue stick and they dry in under a minute. Great option for traveling or for non-messy paint days.

My kids has used paint sticks at school and raved about how great they were, so we ordered some for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised by the price, and they work so well! They are basically like a glue stick, but go onto paper much more smoothly, and the colors were so vibrant! My 3 year old was able to “paint” a picture very well, with no mess! My older school-age kids did the same as well. There was no water mess, paint splattered on the table/everywhere else, and no “trying to find out where to put this masterpiece while it dries”, as it was dry in a couple minutes. I am a big fan, and will be buying these as gifts for friends.

Depending on the age of your kid, these can get messy, but they wipe up with water (even when dried).It goes on more goopy than a crayon but less watery than wet paint. They are very opaque and vibrant - super fun and satisfying to use.I highly recommend them, and that’s even after my 3 year old went way off the paper and got paint stick all over the table.

I bought these to use with my elementary art students, as watercolor didn’t go so well! We used them to paint paper mache masks. The kids LOVED them. The colors are vibrant, messes were minimal, (mostly non-existent)! Kindergarteners we’re successful with these paint sticks. Two sets last through 200 paper mache masks and I still have some unused. Paint dried quickly (much quicker than brushed on tempra), didn’t crack, and cleaned off of hands with just water. My students are begging to use them again. The metallic colors in the set were a big hit. I’ll definitely get them again.

These are fun for younger kids, and mom. They are basically like painting with a glue stick. So don't expect to be able to do any fine lines or intricate designs. But think more abstract art or preschool level. My kids 5 & 7 really enjoy them, and they'll last for a long time as long as we keep track of all the lids. They like to make smdesigns on paper plates with these. I originally bought them for a birthday party art project where you cover the canvas with strips of masking tape and paint in the spots left and then remove the tape to reveal an apstract geometric painting. It went really well, was plenty of colors for bunch kids all to share while working on their pictures. They dry really quite fast and go on really smooth and slick, and no runny paint. So for that project it was a perfect choice.

Great size and easy to use for toddlers and littles as well as older. Easy to wash off when they go off paper. First used these at a church event then had to get them for my house. Have purchased several as gifts. Always a hit with the kids and their parents. Great product!!

My son’s specialized instructor recommended these. I think I love them more than he does. Looks like lipstick but dries like tempera. Amazing. Vibrant colors. I use them for journaling and my son scribbles :-)
