It installed and worked first time on a new MSI motherboard - Excellent
I'm not an expert on video cards or PCs. But I took the plunge to build a high-end PC for my home business and went for this as the video card. It installed without issue and continues that way. There is more software that comes with the card to optimize and overclock it than I'm willing to learn now. Nevertheless, I'm glad it's there if I want to push it harder at some point. I'm very impressed with the ease, the performance, and the options to push it further. Very good card for what I believe was a good price.

Got hotter than I like with air cooling
The media could not be loaded. I tried this card with the air cooling for about a week than decided to water cooling was better. I been water cooling my PC for years now. Never have a issue with water cooling keeps my temp down long time and when it gets to 80 degrees I add on my cooling loop with a quick connect that has 6 TEC1-12706 40x40mm Thermoelectric Cooler 6A Peltier Module). I keep them cool with a earth ship cooling fan and heat sink( a earth ship cooling fan is a air duct that runs under ground with air pushed thru it. that will lower the air temp to 68 degrees as long as the duct is long) Because them things push out some major heat. But will chill the water in my loop fast. Heat and dust are the #1 killers of a computer that's why I went with water cooling. I am not blowing dust in my case and keep the temp below 80 so I should be able to run with this card for years, or until I see a new card I like. And sorry about the mess in my case I am still working on the lights so it's a little messy in there. (working on a program to take over the mother board lights so I can have it with the water blocks and the Led lights all in sync, well you will see what I am talking about if you watch the video . I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy.

Constant crashes after a few months of use
This card was great for the first few months of use. Then I slowly stared seeing screens full of artifacts at random low load times. Recently, after closing a game and going back to desktop the screen would turn a solid color of white, green, blue, orange, or green and a power cycle would be the only thing to bring it back to life. Now, Its constant crashes and won't stay on for more than 30 seconds without a complete crash. Old card works fine in the same system. I have submitted an RMA and will update the review with the results. The part that isn't working for me is the 15-35 day "in house" turn around time added to the 12 plus days shipping. The RMA process was hard to navigate, which is odd since the support side filled in all my info if all I had was a question. But, made me fill out all fields manually for an RMA. Almost like they wanted to make it hard. If MSI reps read this and want to speed things along and save themselves from another bad review, My RMA # is RRD19032832 It will be leaving for service on 6/24/19. The way this review gets edited depends on how fast a $550.00 card gets back in my system and functions properly. I wish I had read reviews about MSI warranties before purchasing this card. EVGA seems to lead the field for fast repairs and will be getting my business if it really takes me 2 months to get this card back in and working again.7-25-19 Update I called almost 3 weeks after sending defective card back, it never showed up in the RMA tracking system on their website. The guy on phone told me he would email within a couple hours, never got an email. 2 days later got a tracking number and card showed up in plain box with only serial number in and out typed on it. 4 week turnaround for a 6 month old overpriced card. The card seems to be working in a test system. Will update. In the meantime, I bought an RTX 2080 FTW3 from EVGA so I could use my primary system. Found out they offer cross shipping for RMA and would have me back going in a couple days if any problems occurred. Also, they have a step up program to pay the difference and have the next best card, which is great with the arrival of the "Super" cards. I understand problems happen, but the MSI process really sucks. Don't make me feel like I can watch my RMA progress online if you have no intention of that being true. Customer service is the name of the game in any business, and now EVGA will have mine until MSI takes the numerous negative online reviews about the RMA process in countless forums and implements some fixes to make the customers feel like they matter.

Good performance and seems well built, but odd accessory.
The card performs well which is the most important and that is why I gave it a 4/5 stars. I have two main issues here.First, my card came with DOA lighting but I contacted amazon and they quickly resolved that issue for me so I won't hold it against the card since it was likely a one off.Second, the card comes with a support bracket. However, it is size weird and does not perfectly line up with the card so it looks very strange in the case. My PCIe slot is re-enforced so I am not using it anyway, but if you needed it, it looks odd.

Make sure your case will allow for this long 3 fan monster!
I didn't think I'd have an issue with the size of the card fitting in my full sized tower case but I did. The sata and power cables going to my hard drives opposite the PCIe slot needed to be tucked out of the way for the card to fit and even then it was a tight fit. I used 3DMark to benchmark the improvement from my Zotac GTX 1060 to the MSI Gaming GEFORCE GTX 270. The score with the 1060 card was 4378 and I expected the score to jump at least 1000 points. The score with this 2070 was 9023! Almost a 5,000 point jump changing nothing else but the card. The heat synch on this card is so efficient that in my case most of the time only one of the three fans are running even when gaming. GPUs are definitely overpriced right now, but this card made spending the money a little less painful.
