I am 5'8" and I bought a large size. It is voluminous, so I strongly suspect even the small would be on the large size. However, the braces are adjustable and you could always turn up the legs. Otherwise, I would very strongly recommend these garments as work clothes. I use mine for gardening. It washes well, dries well and shows no signs of wear so far.
