So as you can see from my uploaded photo the manufacturer does give a nice clear idea of how much to buy for your size tank. I posted a question asking how many bags to buy for my size tank, I wouldn't have had to do this if this picture had been part of the products original photos or its description. I bought one bag, which has done the job, but I am using artificial plants, if I was using live plants I would follow the manufacturers guidelines and use two as the plants wouldn't have enough to root into. I will probably buy another bag just for filtration reasons and a nice deep gravel bed would look aestheticly pleasing in my tank. The gravel did need plenty of rinsing, but I just did the bag in quarters and kept moving the gravel by hand which speeded up the process. It was definitely great value for money and the colour is beautiful, very natural looking.

Some reviewers have said it’s dirty and needs loads of washing before use I did not find this in fact because I was setting up a new tank I did not wash it.After 24 hours it settled and the tank water is totally clear the only thing floating was bits of small wood which is obviously easy to scoop out with a net.After 24 hours I added the chlorine remover and then 24 hours later some bacteria and the tank water is still crystal clear I will leave it for a dews weeks to properly cycle before adding any fish.The gravel is fine and a very nice gold colour looks very natural and because it is fine it should be an excellent filter.I have an 100l tank and used four bags which in fact was more than enough.Highly recommended

good sand when youve washed it thoroughly, the amount of debris in it was unreal, once its clean, it actually looks nice, its just the fortnight of preparation that gets it a 4 as opposed to a 5

Bought my first bag a week ago to make a bog filter for my pond, didn’t clean the stones first and thought i’d made the biggest mistake as my water turned a yellowish-orangey colour.. fast forward a week and my pond is clearer than it’s been in ages (without a whole water change). this product is a god send for the price, amount and quality

Exactly what I needed looks great in the tank, always remember to rinse before you put in the tank otherwise you’ll be working overtime to try get your water clear again 👍🏼

The media could not be loaded. This took a bit of washing - don't dare put it straight in your tank without putting it in a bucket and hosing for a good 15 mins. Even then I had cloudy water for a few days until I stuck a superfine filter pad in. Since thin it has been fine. My fish love it, they like to move it around, they huff into and snuffle through it, they pick it up in their mouths and move it around the tank. It is not too sharp and a nice size for them, I love the natural look of the sand, it looks great in my tank.
