Bought this spoon rest thinking it was going to be large. However, it was the same size as my other melamine spoon rest, which I bought for far less, is just as attractive and does the job well.

Only a little small for long items. I don't know about heat resistance because I have purchased it recently and doesn't have time to experience that much.
