High action
Loving this game. Playing on One X in 4K and some of the best graphics this generation. The story is crazy melodramatic non-sense that doesn't take itself too seriously and knows its an action game. It makes you feel awesome while playing. If you like DMC, this is one of the best in some time. If you never played DMC, but enjoyed challenging fast paced games such as Ninja Gaiden and Bayonneta, then you will like this!

Very fun game
Has pretty good graphics and the story is great. It takes a little while to get use to the controller buttons, but once u do it becomes second nature. The only down fall is that it’s not as long as I would like. With this being said , once I beat the game I turned around and started all over again. So the replay value of this game is high. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes fast action games,.

Good Gameplay. Bland Environmental Design
I have played every Devil May Cry to date, and can honestly say this is not one of my favorites. There are some strengths to this new entry, and I would say that it lies in its character and weapon variety, but definitely not in its level design. The story is told through flashbacks and constant flips between characters as you move throughout the games 20 chapters. DMC5 has an online component, and they way by which the game integrates online play is actually pretty unique, although somewhat meager. Basically, there are some stages where you get to choose your character and take on the level from that persons unique perspective, as in, you see the a side of the level you wouldn't see if you had chosen the other character. In some levels, you can actually SEE the other character fighting their own enemies. Now this took me a while to figure out what was going on but what happens is...on a level that has this 'feature', you will see either the phrase: 'Starring The DMC Team' or 'Starring X gamertag'. This means you are either paired up with a human controlled player, or in the case of the 'DMC Team', an AI controlled player. The only real interaction you can have with other players is that, at the end of the stage, you can rate that player as 'Sylish' if you....I guess, appreciated their combos(since you can see if their combo rating next to their gamertag). Being rated as stylish awards you with a golden orb, which acts as a revive that you receive as a login bonus if you were rated positively. It's all fluff, though, and doesn't really add much to the game other than an occasional smirk when you see other human players fighting enemies on the other side of a wall separating you from them. My biggest gripe with DMC5 is in its level design, which just feels so boring and bland. By the end of the game, you will grow so incredibly tired of the ruined cities, empty streets, caves and underground sections. In a couple of levels, you actually have to run through the same stage(well, from a different starting point) with a different character, so it further allows each level to feel overused and dull. Luckily, the actual combat, which is DMC's bread and butter, is as good as ever, and you might forget you're running through bland environments since you'll be having so much fun slashing away at enemies while bobbing your head to some excellent metal riffs. Dante, Nero and V each have their own combat styles, but V is clearly the most boring to use. Dante has 4 different fighting styles that each boast different move sets, Nero has expendable arms that can be used to perform a multitude of cool attacks and V has three animals to fight for you: a hawk, a tiger and a goliath. V is boring to use because the character himself doesn't actually deal any of the damage, but rather his companions do. The combat loop with V involves weakening enemies by mashing face buttons while simply staying back and dodging attacks, then you HAVE to perform a finishing move with B(xbox) or circle(playstation) to kill the enemy. Length wise, you're looking at a 10-15 hour game here, and it's definitely quite linear. A few stages have an open-ended feel to it but it still doesn't give you a whole lot of room to explore . Devil May Cry games are meant to be replayed, but this is where the level design and character backtracking really hurts the replay value. By the time you finish the game, you will be less inclined to play again like you might have with previous installments because of its dull level design. I would still recommend playing DMC5 despite its flaws, but it really just felt like more of the same to me. The game has great gameplay, flashy cutscenes and good weapon variety, but sadly it is held back by bland level design and an online component that felt like an afterthought.

Phenomenal! A true work of art!
I’m a huge fan of the Devil May Cry series and in my personal opinion it is probably the best one in the series! Left me craving for more Devil May Cry!

Fun game for a little while...
I always lose interest in these games after about 2 to 3 hours of gameplay. It has an ok story but not like the older games. The micheal jackson hat scene was the funniest part. Graphics are great! Just feels to grindy for me.
