Q: Can the carafe go into the microwave?

Yes. Only The glass beaker is ok for microwave.

Q: Is the soft grip handle going to turn into sticky rubber or is it a harder plastic?

It is a harder plastic, and when I wash I`m not putting it the French press into hot water I`m just cleaning the inside and rinsing with hot water.

Q: Is the carafe microwaveable?

I do not believe so. The glass carafe is attached plastic holder. I don't think the plastic would hold up in the microwave.
