Q: Is it supposed to be so Rocky? I was expecting something more like normal potting soil.

Yes! That is sort of the point, as without proper drainage and aeration, you could wind up with mold growing atop the soil and on your bonsai’s roots, or worse, you could kill the tree! However, based on the photos in one very helpful and descriptive review, this particular soil may not actually have those specifically advertised characteristics.

Q: What is the percentage mixture in professional carnivorous plant soil?

Different brands have different ratios of ingredients. Generic mix is 1:1 peat moss and coarse sand. My personal mix is 2:1:1 peat moss, coarse sand, and pumice. Do not use anything with fertilizer in it.

I wouldn't.. I think you want to grow fruit tree larger than bonsai ... try top soil
